depends on the experience of the high school graduate

You need to consider the lifestyle you want to live.
Are you "ok" living off an unstable income/job?
An important thing to consider is where you might see yourself in 5, 10, 15 years. Getting a "real-career" isn't as easy as simply deciding: "Oh, art didn't work out, now I'll do something different".
Its tough to just "decide" to do a career.

I have known myself in a way I doubt I would have ever occurred except as it did. Smith, P. Bull. Where do you get the notion that a real job pays minimum wage??
Whats your definition of a real job??
Pretty much every entry level job out there starts at minimum wage. If you dont want to work for minimum wage, they will find someone else who will. Most of my friends who graduated with BAs are still working gig to gig, min wage, or babysitting.
I'm just starting an entry-level job myself on January 3rd. My pay is $865/wk ($24.50/hr). I guess I make minimum wage?

I'm not okay living off income that could have me homeless and having to start over which is why Im looking into this career.

This is an entry level electrical engineering job, requiring an electrical engineering degree.
I believe Ontario's minimum wage is around $11.25/hr right now.
