Actually, and counter to my own arguments lol, it is good to have a degree. College graduate vs highschool graduate; who would you hire?

depends on the experience of the high school graduate

You need to consider the lifestyle you want to live.

Are you "ok" living off an unstable income/job?

An important thing to consider is where you might see yourself in 5, 10, 15 years.  Getting a "real-career" isn't as easy as simply deciding: "Oh, art didn't work out, now I'll do something different".

Its tough to just "decide" to do a career.

...the whole experience is (and is as) a profound piece of knowledge.  It is an indellible experience; it is forever known.  I have known myself in a way I doubt I would have ever occurred except as it did.

...most subjects find the experience valuable, some find it frightening, and many say that is it uniquely lovely.

Or I can work a "real" job and make minimum wage...

Where do you get the notion that a real job pays minimum wage??

Whats your definition of a real job??

Pretty much every entry level job out there starts at minimum wage. If you dont want to work for minimum wage, they will find someone else who will. Most of my friends who graduated with BAs are still working gig to gig, min wage, or babysitting.

I'm just starting an entry-level job myself on January 3rd.  My pay is $865/wk ($24.50/hr).  I guess I make minimum wage?

This is an entry level electrical engineering job, requiring an electrical engineering degree.

I believe Ontario's minimum wage is around $11.25/hr right now.
