Was looking for p. pelliculosa, found these. I don't think these are pellies, but I'm curious what they are. Thanks in advance for an id!
Habitat: Edge of clearcut, probably cut within the last 1-4 years. Firs, alders. Tons of woody debris, blackberries thriving in cut.
Gills: Light brown, attachment adnexed.
Stem: See pics. Very firm/strong. Appears to have a small hollow middle.
Cap: See pics. Faded to light tan/grey upon drying.
Spore print color: Dark brown, see pics... I was hoping to find purple in it. Trying to be objective, I can't say that it does, but I also don't have much frame of reference for how much purple should be evident.
Bruising: Stem seemed to bruise dark brown/purplish.

Yeah just googled it. Everything except the cap color seems to match. These were very bright yellow/orange. None of the pics I just looked at where that color.

For pelliculosa look for LBM's in clear-cuts with a well developed pellicle (clear gelatinous membrane on the cap). The word "Pellicalosa" in Latin means "pelli"=pellicle "calosa"=well developed. I have looked and haven't found any either but I think it is still to early in the year.
