Habitat: Grassy fields littered with cow dung (see pic)
Gills: Chocolate mousse brown
Stem: White and fibrous. Has a slight sheen. Purple veil around stem. Enlarges slightly at base. ~8mm dia, 50mm long
Cap: 60 & 80mm dia. Quite weathered - fades from a rich woody tan colour in the centre to desaturated purple/brown colour towards the edges.
Spore print color: Purplish black (Printing now. Can post a pic later if needed?)
Bruising: Blue brusing on both stems where cut.
Location: SE QLD, Australia
Pretty sure these are P. Cubensis. I've got Paul Stamets book and everything checks out - just thought i'd double check here since its my first find.
These two took an hour to find! How long do people usually hunt for?

Nice finds bro! Congrats.
Let the season begin

Nice find man! I still haven't managed to find any yet this season but someone else started a SE QLD thread and I think it would be cool to make that the official 2011 - 2012 thread so for people to post their finds and ask questions, ect. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/15248003 That's the link if you guys are interested.

At its core, you have to understand that this is not an intellectual exercise. It is experiential. It is, and I'm almost embarrassed to say it, religious. But it is more than religious. It is exhilarating. It shows us that the human brain possesses infinite potentialities. It can operate in space-time dimensions that we never dreamed even existed. I feel like I've awakened from a long ontological sleep." - Timothy Leary
