Yeah, that's cool. Like I said, I'm sure he's a cool guy. I just want so badly for these shows to slowly chip away at people's preconceived notions about the existence (or lack thereof) of extraterrestrials. And I want people who look professional to represent our side on these shows. The subject of UFOs already draws so much ridicule from people who haven't had the evidence presented to them. We don't need to give them more fuel for their fire.
People don't want to believe that extra terrestrials exist. That possibility is a direct threat to people's core belief system and I feel like people know this on an unconscious level. If they admit that aliens exist, then their world could collapse. If extraterrestrials exist and the government is covering it up, then what does that mean? It could mean that all the answers to life's questions aren't found in religious texts. It could mean that our fundamental understanding of the universe is wrong and that we've missed out on a big part of life for all these years. It could mean that our government isn't as in charge as they like for us to believe. Etc, etc, etc. The implications are staggering. So people are looking for a reason to write it off. I just feel like this guy's appearance gives them that chance. That easy out. Laugh it off, turn on Jersey Shore and forget about it.

If people don't want to believe in the possibility of extra-terrestrial life because some guy on the history channel has funny hair, that's their problem.
That's how I see it anyway. Those people aren't going to believe anyway regardless of what some professor or some guy in a nice suit says. Until they make their presence known publicly and globally, they will continue living in their little bubbles.

I think alot of what they say on that show is really just speculation. Nobody really knows whats going on. But we all like to pretend we are experts. including me.

I personally do really care if people believe or not. I want them to believe. I want the evidence to be presented to them. I think the world would be a much better place if people believed in extraterrestrials. As it stands, most people believe that the bible is very logical and believable and that aliens are absolute fantasy. I think that is completely backward and I think that backward thinking affects the whole world. Reality is fantasy and fantasy is reality.
And I don't think UFOs need to touch down on the White House lawn for people to believe. If the mainstream media presented the evidence to the public like they do anything else, the public would believe. The public has never been to the moon, but they know it exists because they've always been taught that.

I don't think one guy's hair style is going to completely invalidate or diminish the credibility of a concept and a movement that has pre-dated him (or his hair style). Like Azoth stated,
Quote:

And that would show a clear lacking of brain cells if a guy's hair was the sole reason why you'd stop believing in something anyways.
Ancient Aliens also isn't the predominate source for the scoop on the possibility of extraterrestrial life, and it's not as though every other outspoken individual on this subject rock's the Tsoukadelic hair-do. If that was the case, THEN there'd be a clear and concise issue for the alien disclosure movement.

Guys, we are seriously the only intelligent beings in the universe. It's not like the universe is infinitely expansive and ancient or anything. Humans are, like, the tip of the iceberg in terms of complexity and evolution.

Duh, I mean, the Universe only started existing when human beings were born.
