Just enrolled for the 2 year at a community college. Will this get me anywhere? I just couldn't take your generic bullshit college classes anymore.

This one seems to be more focused around IT support with some forensics included. Any different?
But yea, this school is like 120 a credit... cheap

Learn something specific like SharePoint. There are cert classes out there and just search SharePoint on Indeed (for one example)to see the jobs out there. This will honestly put you into position to work faster than a run of the mill IT degree. Tech is still one area you can be specialized in, use this
Cheers and best of luck!

Everyone is flooding into the IT field because its growing so fast, so there is a lot of competition for jobs. You better be damn good at interviewing to stand out from the other 50 applicants for the position. It doesn't matter much what you go for, all entry level jobs are help desk positions doing password resets, and make $10-$15/hour depending on how much the employer feels they can stiff you due to lack of experience.
Right now I make just over 32K a year, which unfortunately is pretty good in this economy and job climate.
