Flotation Tanks in Amsterdam?
    #1530605 - 05/08/03 01:49 PM (14 years, 19 days ago)

I'm going back to the 'Dam in July and wondered if any Netherlands Shroomerites knew if there where any flotation tank centers in or around Amsterdam?

I'm not aiming to try a tank out tripping/stoned, just thought it would be an interesting diversion for a long weekend!

Cheers,
Allan.

I think you mean sensory deprivation tanks, which cause hallucinations for most people. Kind of like intense meditation. Sorry cant help you, im in colorado.

How long do you have to be in one before you hallucinate?

Sounds very interesting, is there anything special required for one of these tanks, or could I rig one up in my bathtub?

i think the fluid you are emersed in is a highly concentrated solution of epson salt in water. so you body actually is so boyant it floats and doesnt toucht the bottom of the tub. then the fluid is heated to 98.7 degrees so you lose a sense of destincion between the water and you body. it is also pitch black and completely silent. you are pretty much left alone in you head. i hear its the most intense way to trip sober next to extreme degrees of budhist mediation.

is it common to take psychedelics in this isolation tank?

did the guy in the movie "altered states" take psychedelics in the movie before going into the tank?

Cheers for the link.  I'll be moving to The Netherlands very soon and might give that place a visit.  Sounds really interesting.
