ONE word
    #1529701 - 05/08/03 01:21 AM (20 years, 11 months ago)

one word to describe or define LIFE, what would you choose? of course i mean your own personal LIFE, as much as i care for jellyfish unless they possess someone about to post on here then.. SCREW EM!!!! and they may, so perhaps well have jellyfish posting on here along with us foolish humans.. it seems like anyone circulating through here could post a response to this question, not that they couldnt to any other but.. im talking about what LIFE is personally to each individual so there should be no disputing ones answer; no attacks on the other persons view. no schoolbook definitions or lengthy debates over terminology. and no one there to kick us in the ass when our "word" is "WRONG".. i dont post this in hopes of a grand debate, or people bashing eachother over the head because they themselves KNOW the "true" answer.. explanation is entailed, like if i were to say "weed" and that could be taken as marijuana but perhaps im a person who sprays peoples yards to prevent weeds and my paycheck is my life therefore my LIFE is all about "weed"... i guess i just want to know what everyones view is, those who post regularly and those who post seldom. i want to know what people would say freely, knowing that no one has the right to ridicule their answer.. knowing that LIFE can differ greatly from one person to another, and yet our base responses to certain stimuli and our base awareness is still common amongst us, its our pasts and enviornments that bring the DIFFERENCE.. so what is LIFE to YOU???

cheese.

cheese has so many possibilities. Some cheese is really stinky, and you dont want to get near it, but when you get past the smell you discover all these wonderful tastes.

cheese wouldnt be possible without the tiniest organisms.

Cheese can kill you.

Words are never enough, but I will try to think of one for the heck of it.

For a definition of life... hmmmm... sorry can't think of one...

To describe life... damn, can't think of one.

Sorry, I tried, can't do it right now!

why would you want to restrict us to one word?

that makes it too much of an "either/or" type of thing for me man.. maybe "everything?"

^^^^^^^^^ good one

NOW

thats what life is for me.  its now its not the past or the future.  its just now.  you can do anything in the now.  past is gone and the future is full of unknowns.  so all we really have is now.  peace

Existence.

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.
