morel storage

I have a large quantity of land in Northern Wisconsin where I have picked morel mushrooms for a couple years. Normally, I pick them and use them right away. This year I am really desperate for money, so I am planning on bring them back to my hometown to sell to the local co-op. My cabin on the land has no power, no water, and wood furnance for heat. How can I keep these fresh until I sell them?

If you want to keep them FRESH - you'll have to refrigerate. If you have no option, I would dry them, and just sell them dry.

If were to pick them in the mornign and take them back to the city in the afternoon? I usually cook them twenty minutes after I pick them so I am really lacking knowledge in this area, the circumstances of primative living also complicate things.
