Mmmmm... Found some nice puffballs over the weekend, made a puffball-shiitake-porcini pasta with homegrown tomatos, zucchini, peppers and herbs... Sadly an ankle injury has interupted my start this season.

Oreganic said: Hey nice finds BlueLightRain! I had no idea that the Yellow Foots were already fruiting! I may have to go hit up a few of my spots. Unless you are located further north? That may explain.. I wouldn't expect to see those fruiting here till closer to November.
I'm currently near Forks, WA and I've been finding them since I got here in September. They are very common!

My homemade shaggy parasol garden is fruiting It's so nice to come home and find everything I've made over this past year coming to life.

Nice! Have you just been chucking caps in there the past few years or did you did you spawn bomb? I've been finding bunches of perfect sized button shaggys lately. Think I might take some older caps and work them in under some cedars/firs at my house.

Hey guys. What would you say are the most popular mushrooms (psychedelic), and most popular dangerous mushrooms in the PNW.

That's just how I roll vanisland I went out on a walk this evening to a few other locations I sprayed with some parasol spores last fall. They are treating me very well this year. Only about 2lbs fresh from this walk, but it was getting dark. It's prime time right now Found a few lonely baeos at a different location too, but the mowers got to them first

I found a big white coral fungus patch on my 'trip' hike on friday. I didn't pick it though.
Oh and this little guy greeted me in the middle of the trail, a crawdad! I didn't eat him either. :-)

I found Shaggy Parasols and Shaggy Ink Caps yesterday and today. The ink caps are some of the coolest mushrooms I've found. I'll post up photos tonight.
EDIT: (my photos of them are posted in a new thread titled ("my tromp through the woods")

More shaggies today while out hunting for actives. It's a good year for edibles in the PNW.

These tasted great! I highly, highly recommend them. I salted them a little too heavy but the taste is delicate, sorta tasted like sweet seafood.

Awesome find dude! If you find you're chewing dirt I recommend taking the time to clean every one of your finds as you pick them. If you are in a hurry, it's clearly hard to do. On the other hand if you have tons of time, clean those puppies and enjoy being in the woods woohoo!
