i'd say it is like going to sleep, and then exactly like a dream, and you do wake up in the morning

There is no such thing.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

Nobody that is alive knows. Why worry about it, you will be provided an answer eventually. Some who believe in reincarnation might tell you that it's importance can be found in this life, how may you improve yourself, what lessons are presented to you by your experiences (who you love, who loves you, your losses, trials, anguish and longings).

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

I dont know what the experience of death is like (isnt that explained in the Tibetan book of the dead?)

However, I do know why the thought plagues you.

Attachment.

Not saying its good or bad, just stating the obvious, the attachment to your life causes an irritation to your comfort zone when it gets threatened.

This will work, especially since you are high...

Try to focus completely on the present. Notice your breathing, your thoughts, the sensations you feel, etc. Then realize, while in the present how the thought of death is just that, an illusion.

Also, something I was told a long time ago. You cannot be dead, and be alive. Vice versa, you canno be alive, and be dead. So it is physically impossible to THINK about death or WORRY about it while you are dead.

So technically, you can ONLY worry about death while you are alive. Isnt that a neat discovery? So if you dont worry about death in the present, there is NO problem at all

I think death would actualy be something amazing as long as your karma good and you go into it with a clear mind just as if you where going to take a large dose of DMT. I also think you could have the choice to either stay dead or come back as anything you want. It all depends on which spirituial plane and mind set your on in this life. For me I aint comeing back I would rater go somewhere else after this life is over not sure where though.

Death is comfort and a gasp of fresh air. All the bullshit of this plane is cast off and enlightment comes in orgasmic waves. You're loved ones are waiting for you, and a better world awaits you also. These things are only attained by pure of heart. I dont care much for organized religion. You know that feeling you get when you are outside and the sun is perfect and the air smells sweet. You feel at peace and embrased by the world. Those moments are a glimpse of what follows this life. Religion is simply this. There are two sides. Good, and evil. We as humans are given the choice to strive towards being one or the other. This effort is grand because we each have good and evil in us in equal parts. Every moment in your life is a chance to prove which you are. When you do something as simple as smile at a lousy driver rather than yelling and cursing, you are afirming your basic desire to be a good person. Everyone likes to feel good, but we treat each other like shit as a defense reaction to the evil in this world. Dont fuck with me, Im a bad man syndrome. This portrayance of evil serves anyone well as a defense, but it also is a double edge sword. If one person that shouldnt feels threatened by your presence, you are conveying evil. And therefor reciprocating it. Evil begets evil. Good begets good. Problem is this. In order to do good and live well, you have to make yourself vulnerable to a degree. In my opinion it takes much larger cahonees to live in the light. You risk everytime you extend a hand. But nobility is never easy. Just the same as it is easier to sleep when you know the electric bill is paid, it is easier to die knowing you lived a good life. Death should only be feared by the evil, because there is nothing waiting for them.

Death is the cessation of conscious-awareness. After death, our bodies no longer function to support our brain, which is where our conscious-awareness resides. Our brain ceases to work, our conscious-awareness is extingushed like a candle in a sealed jar, and our bodies go back to the earth.

I've never died tho, so thats just my thought.

Death is like getting out of a car...

Each car is made in a manufacturing plant.

Some cars are sport, some are waggons, vans, utility vehicles, etc...

The LIFE of the car happens when:

1) The car has fuel;
2) The parts are in working order;
3) you have a driver.

Inside the car, the driver pushes "buttons" to make things happen.

ALSO...

The driver can look "outwards"...  To the front, the back, and the sides.

THe driver predicts what is going to happen to the car through "visuals" and (if they have the "know how") through technical aspects of how the car is behaving ( Like...  engine *clicks* and stuff).

The car needs to be taken care of and cleaned every now and then ...  You know... to look nice!

Although there are definate roads to drive on...  each driver has some "steering ability".

There are those, however, who are brave enough to do some "off roading".
Those are the pionneers of the roads least travelled.

Cars are fun to play with !

Eventually, playtime is over.

The car served its purpose:  To bring the DRIVER from "POINT A" to "POINT B".

The driver gets out.

The car no longer moves.  It becomes lifeless... and becomes recycled ( recycled in a perfect world ).

..... DEATH is like getting out of a car.  The car stops, but the driver CONTINUES ......."on foot".
