My Bridgesii has a black/brown spot thats ozzing resin

Just developed several days ago and already grown this big..
I have not watered it for over two months now either and always water from below. Have a custom soil mix which is very proper, so it definitely gets enough drainage... The spot is not soft or mushy, but firm like the rest of the cactus..
Also it is bulging outward and more of a bump than a spot I should say..
And now today I just noticed it to be oozing small amounts of sticky black resin, like sap from a conifer, which you see to the right of the spot, as I wiped it off and that is just a smear..
I doesn't seem like rot? Or has my cactus already begun rotting on the inside??
I have these cacti for years and have never had one infection so far.

Your picture isn't the best but it sounds like weeping black rot which usually means too much water, high humidity, or a combination of both.
The cactus actually looks a little dehydrated. The best thing to do when this shows up in my experience is reduce watering/protect from water. A sunnier position can help too.
I also stopped rock mulching on bridgesii and bridgesii hybrids because I wanted to speed up the rate at which the soil dried. Not sure if it actually helped, but it seemed to.

Can some surgery possibly remedy this before it spreads even more?

That bottom bit thats grey-ish looks alot like rot; I'd uproot it and take a closer look, maybe cut if it's dire. Unless I'm wrong in seeing that grey rot part on the base.

Lick the resin to trip ballz.
If it gets worse then pull it out of the soil and inspect the roots. If they are slimy then you've got root rot. If the cactus just pulls out of the ground leaving the roots behind and the inside is all sloppy then you've got bad root rot. If it doesn't get worse, then it's probably just the black blistery things that bridges seem to always get and it will scar over eventually.
