I like I how I present my case totally reasonably, don't insult you at all personally, and you know you're right. Research has shown that betters don't really perform differently in different situations. They're always trying their best every plate appearance. The runners already have to be there for them to be driven in. You're not comprehending what I'm saying because you've always thought your way of thinking about it must be right when it's just not. Michael Young was the forth best hitter on the Rangers, at best the 4th and at worst the 5th best hitter for the cleanup spot, for reasons I can explain.
Baseball offense is about creating runs. Batting average is not a good predictor for measuring a players ability to create runs. Slugging percentage is the best predictor, followed by OBP. Slugging percentage and OBP combined to OPS doesn't make sense because it values OBP and slugging percentage the same even though 1 point of slugging percentage is much more valuable than 1 point of OBP. Therefore, another stat is used to combine the two, slugging percentage and OBP, as a weighted, park, and league adjusted so that 100 is the average, called wRC+. That is the best way to predict a players ability to create runs. The higher a players wRC+, the higher his offensive potential is. Looking at wRC+ Michael Young was the 4th best regular offensive player on the Rangers behind Adrian Beltre, Mike Napoli, Josh Hamilton, and Ian Kinsler. You're approaching the whole thing in a non-logical and extremely dogmatic way. ps I possess an intellect close to genius when measured psychometrically.

Yes, fantasy baseball performance is a legitimate intellectual barometer. If it's the barometer that you wish to use then feast your eyes (assuming you can see at all in your old age) on this.

ps this post is a joke also, i am smart as fuck (my mommy says) And I screwed up on that post up there. I mixed up OBP and slugging percentage. OBP is more important. Example: if a team has a .1000 OBP they will score infinite runs, if a team has a .1000 slugging percentage they will not. if a team has a .1000 batting average they will also not score infinite runs. (simplified understanding of course, i know you're old and stuff).

You're smoking crack if you think Michael Young isn't a good hitter. Also, Zappa you came in 8/10 this year so I wouldn't be talking. Also, I can't decide which of these two teams I hate more, I think I'll root for Holland to grow a real Carl Pavano mustache this world series.
Go Rockies.

I think you should stop arguing about who's smarter about baseball, because I think your all retarded for no one mentioning the greatest World Series performance ever by Puljos.

Greatest one game performance. He is being badly outplayed by Mike Napoli for the series. And I think Reggie's game was better. Closer game, three consecutive pitches from 3 different pitchers, clincher.

True, and yeah definitely single game performance. And how can you argue that's NOT better than Jackson's? Puljos went 5/5, 3HRs, 6RBIs (all tied records) and did it in ONE GAME!. Jackson's game was extremely impressive don't get me wrong, but Puljos just did work game 3.
And I agree Napoli is gonna win MVP if the Rangers win. If Cards win, Puljos will most likely get it.

Because Jackson did it in the deciding game.
Jackson single-handedly won the World Series for his team.
Pujols won the game for the Cards, but in reality the game last night was a bigger game than the one in which he had his big performance, and he came up with precisely bupkis there.

I can argue it and did (5 for 6 by the way). Yankees don't win that game without Reggie. Take away everything Pujols did and the Cards still win that game. Quote:

Not if he doesn't do something more. Outside of that game he is 0 for 12 and made a terrible play that set up the game 4 loss by failing to field a cutoff throw.
Don't get me wrong, AP is a great player but he aint exactly bringing it this series.

The fuckin' man right here.

"We can't be thinking about we've got to win this game," said Washington. "Because all of a sudden we might miss something. We want to stay in the moment, we want to play our game, and if it's good enough Wednesday, we'll win. If not, we'll play Thursday."
"But we certainly won't be out there thinking about we've just got to win one game. I've been there before, and that doesn't work."

Fuck Texas. I live in Seattle so I can't root for them by default. They have a sick team though, some ridiculous players. I just don't want them to win
maybe in 5 years the M's will be playing in the world series...someday
