First Ps. weilii of the year, season has begun!!!(PICS)

#1527936 - 05/07/03 02:45 PM (23 years, 5 months ago)

Me and a close hunting/picking friend set out to check our patches today when we spotted a mushroom in front of a day care center driving past at 45mph. I didn't think much of it but decided to turn around since I was hungry and there was a zaxbys close by. The second we walked up to the mushroom we were smiles form ear to ear knowing that it was the first weilii find of the season. There were 2 small immature weilii next to the big one we spotted from the road. We went on to check the rest of our patches and didn't find a single other weilii.

So, they are up, but not in mass numbers by any means, its still very early. Lets see if I can get some pics to work, this may take a minute...

Yeah, I impressed myself spotting a sinlge mushrooms from the highway at 45-50mph. Then for it to turn out to be a weilii just topped it off.

We have had unreal amounts of rain dumped onto to us unrelentlessly for the past week, severe thunderstorms, hail, tornados, the whole 9 yards. Mushrooms should be popping all over the state in the next few weeks, things will only get better

How about this weather in GA!

Can't wait to find my first weilii this season (cubes too, for that matter... we don't seem to have them back home either, only subbs). Amazing what a difference a few hours drive makes. Everybody keep their eyes peeled, hopefully we're going to be seeing a lot more of these soon.
