Thanks bro's ur agreement with my id is comforting. But before I would consider trying them a TI's opinion would be appreciated. No disrespect intended.

No offense taken. I don't blame you wanting confirmation.

I guarantee that the the TI will agree. But wait anyway, it's a very good practice.

Those are gyms, but the lack of bruising would indicate they are not very active. Take a piece throw it in a frying pan for a little bit and see if it turns green. If it does then they have some activity. How do they smell? Open one up and if it has a sweet anise-like smell this is another factor in term of Id'ing them.

RIP Matt, your friendship and your contributions to the world of fungi will be missed. Unfortunately we never got to hunt together.

Def BLG,s Gymnopilus Junonius or aka spectibilis. Find tons of them here too, probably growing from burried wood. Instead of frying them to see if their potent, you can also put them in the fridge which will actually help preserve the actives, they tend to turn greenish around the edges of the caps, and where the young pins are coming up, sometimes on the neck. Of course, as always wait for a TI =)
