buying a bike on ebay
    #15245787 - 10/19/11 01:01 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

so i've been looking at this bike i wanted on ebay, it's listed as being in kansas city, MO. however, while looking up the VIN i also saw the same ad, same VIN, same exact text on a craigslist type website, but with the location listed as oceanside, CA. the ad on ebay was recent while the one from CA was from 09. this raises red flags, but i fail to see how someone could pull a scam on ebay considering paypal holds the funds for a set amount of time.

it doesn't make sense that someone would hold onto a bike (motorcycle) for 2 years and move during that time and not sell it. especially at the price it's listed as.

also, he has 0 feedback on ebay.

no, that's impossible. why would the new owners use the exact same text word for word in their own ad?

further, the bike hasn't gained any mileage since the ad from 09.

sorry i didn't read it the first time.

0 feedback + any sketchiness = no go.

so, how were you planning on getting the bike? was he mailing it? driving it? is that where you live currently?
won't you be meeting him in person anyway?

nope, i would've been using the shipping option through ebay.

too good to be true i guess.

it was a 600cc sport bike from 07 with allegedly 200 miles on it.

well, someone else ended up buying the bike.

it was an 07 zx6r for 2800 - an amazing deal with 200 miles on it.

i just hit up a dude i found on craigslist. gonna be checking out an 05 zx636 (a highly coveted bike) with 10k miles for 3900.

here's a pic from the ad:

i hope to fucking god i get it.

@ harley dude: yeah the bike is epic but I'll never understand the retarded handlebars.

i mean seriously, that angle fucks with your steering and it does NOT look cool.

kind of like how skiiers get where they're trying to go... but snowboarders look cooler doing it.

idk, harleys, not for me.

are you fat and bald and have a beard?

lol
so drunk

explain the handle bar situation.

why are they preferable?

Don't your arms get tired?

Don't you have a worse angle on them for steering??

I don't get it. enlighten me.

just like, what up bitches, i have my hands up in the air unnecessarily.

ROFL.

there's nothing about it except for their deluded sense of aesthetics. the long rake actually reduces turning radius and is incredibly unwieldy in low speed turns. pretty much highway cruising only.

the camera angle makes them look higher then they are,

these "mini ape hangers" come with the street bobs actually.

They arent that high, and actually are not uncomfortable to ride.

the one in the image u posted, are way too high
