Cased 4 days ago, a question...

The cakes wouldnt fruit after 3 and a half weeks, so they cased them. That was 4 days ago, there is a small amount of myc growing through. It is a straight verm case. I have read about but am not 100% sure of overlay. Do I let the myc recover and grow over the entire top of the casing or only partially before they fruit? Also, is there anything different recommended when casing cakes that were already put into fruiting conditions but no fruit occured?

L

So you put some cakes out n they didnt pin, so you broke em up n mixed em together and cased?

Did you dunk the cakes?

If you cover the casing with syran wrap and put in the fruitng chamber, the moisture wont escape the casing because there is humidity everywehre, and it will collect on the syran wrap which will get soaked up by the verm, and you wont need to water while its colonizing. This helps prevent overlay.

I asked about the dunk, cause you might want to try a cold shock to initiate pinning...

if the myc is coming thru, you want to patch the first signs of it with your verm, so that will give the other areas time to catch up and you will have an even myc covering and an even pinset.
