Need help with air exchange
    #1523896 - 05/06/03 08:22 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Say you have rubbermaid containers and you are running a hose into the rubbermaid container. Where do you put the incoming air? I understand that you put a filter patch at the bottom for the co2 to be released. All I need to know is should the tube of incoming air should be at the top, the bottom, or where ever. Please help me out.

Generally you bring the tube in from the top.

Do it this way because you won't have to drill anything   Also because the soft flow from the incoming air will push the air towards your filter.

I would say that its more important that your filter be close to the bottom of your grow chamber.  CO2 (the "used up air") that you're exchanging with new air, sinks.

It will naturally fall the the bottom of your chamber, so if you have a filter near the bottom of your chamber the CO2 will flow out.  THUS, creating your gas exchange.

Thank you so much Lana. I understood the whole co2 being a heavier gas than o2. Thank you for the complete info its well appriciated.
