With all of the Iraq debate here lately, and whether we did the right thing, heres something you might wanna check out....
From 7-9 (central) on the History Channel is "Saddam Hussein: Reign of Terror", followed by "Saddam Hussein: Butcher of Baghdad". I think thats the order. I dunno, if you have cable, check it out. Maybe worth watching...Most of the stuff on History is.

from what i've seen of it, the history channel usually takes a much more objective, scientific, examination of the topics it presents than most of what's on TV. i think it'll be a good show. i mean... if FOXNEWS had a special called, "the butcher of baghdad", i sure wouldn't waste my time with it... but this is THE HISTORY CHANNEL.. come on... one time they had "the history of psychedelics". it was awesome.

Yea, the History Channel special was great. I like how Ugbay (whatever the fuckers name is) who was in charge of the Olympic commitee told athletes that if they lost, he was going to kill their fmailies and maim them. If Americans had this type of training program, maybe we'd kick ass more than we already do in the olympics. The show was great, and, if after watching it you still think that the US Was wrong and that the Iraqi people are worse off with us having gone in there, you are a buffoon.

What's wrong is that we supported him throughout the entire 1980's even though the gov't knew about atrocities committed by the Butcher of Baghdad, including genocide in Northern Iraq. Wasnt it the Republicans who were so vehemently against stopping genocide in Kosovo and Bosnia by bombing the crap out of the Serbs? Oh, yeah it was because Clinton ordered the bombings (democrat)

It is stupid statements like that that make you lose all credibility. I understand if you think the war is unjust, but that statement is one of the dumbest things I have ever read.
-------------------- "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniencies attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson

Butcher of Baghdad, Chemical Ali, Anthrax woman (I forgot her name). Serious historians never use such adjectives.
The message behind this is: We lied about WMD because we wanted to free the Iraqui people. It was a little manipulation for the good cause and you should forget about it quickly.

What, exactly, would you call a man who orderes the execution of close relatives? What would you call a man who terrified his own son so much that he left his nation fearing for his life? What would you call a man who gasses his own people? Should they have called it "Saddam: Peoples Hero" ? The "Beauty of Baghdad"? The guy was a fucking tyrant. Who the fuck cares, hes dead, we won, nah nah nah boo boo Thats why I love America, no matter how whiny or bitchy the liberal pussies are, the majority still wins.

It is funny to hear all this bitching. I mean, I'm sorry, but its fucking Saddam Hussein. What do you WANT the History Channel to showcase? An hour of Saddam's good deeds?

Maybe the History Channel could run a special on the good Saddam did. I mean, the guy isn't all bad! It's not like he gassed innocent women and childre...er... wait... Yea he did actualy. OK well it's not like he had millions of dollars while his people starved... oh... um yea. OK Hm... Allright, maybe he gassed some people and let some people starve, but at LEAST the guy never invaded another nation for their... no wait. Geez, he might sound bad from that, but at least he never had members of his own family or poliical party executed! Wait...

What a nice guy, it's a shame we had to go in and tear apart his regime.

I wonder when will be the show entitled: "Depleted uranium: mass murderer of innocent children." be on? Next century maybe?
I'm not saying that Saddam was not a butcher. Propaganda is not just lying is also making you see only what you want to see.

Maybe it could be a 2 part special with "Slaughter 700,000 children under 5 with sanctions".
