I would suggest using WBS, rather than rye. It is cheaper & more forgiving about moisture content. If your PC is large enough, I would also go with quart jars, rather than pints. They colonize about as quick & you double the amount, over using pint jars.

Starting with one (1) spore syringe will = 5 quarts of WBS. G2G one of those will get you 20 more. So on & so forth.

Use WBS as spawn into aged leached horse/cow manure, case & fruit out.

Do you understand B/E?

Biological Efficiency is a term frequently used to describe yield potentials of mushrooms from various substrates. Simply put, a yield of 1 lb. of fresh mushrooms from 1 lb. of dry substrate is considered to be 100% Biological Efficiency. Since mushrooms are approximately 90% water and the base substrate is typically raised to 70 - 75% moisture, 100% Biological Efficiency is equivalent to saying that 25% of the wet mass of the substrate is converted into fresh mushroom.

100 to 300% B/E is very possible with bulk substrates. Weigh a cake sometime & you will know why my foaf one did them - once. His first go around. Then went to bulk & never went back.

All the info you need is in the FAQ at the top of this page.

judging from the wway you word your questions and the questions themselves i can only assume that you are in theoreticl/hypothetical stage. if your new at this I can definitely tell you that you are starting way to large of an operation for a beginner. even if you have experience with PF tek this amount of work, attention to detail, and time consumed is daunting for even a seasoned pro should he be working alone. many of your questions can not only be learned from reading the faqs and browsing posts and searching the forums but also by starting small and experimenting with various methods until you develop your own style. to answer the question about G2G Xfers, yes, it is theoretically possible to do that many transfers with no problems. In the hands of a beginner you will just end up with a whole lot of grain wasted to contamination and spend a lot of time trying to clean up the messes you've made. Concerning best substrate for maximum yield... this greatly depends on what species of mushroom your growing. If my assumption of psilocybe is correct then I would recommend grain spawned (rye, wbs) into dung/straw. of course, had you been doing your homework you'd prolly know this.

Debianlinux is giving good advice & trying to help you. Not curtail your efforts.

It is better to start small, master that, then expand, mastering each new step of that expansion. Rather than start large & fail, time & time again.

G2G is grain to grain transfers.

WBS is wild bird seed.
