I know this has probably been asked a million times before, but I've never really read a satisfying answer. I know that, in my personal experience, I've found a huge difference between homegrown Psilocybe Cubensis and Subaeriginosa shrooms that I found. Now, I can't tell if that's purely due to dosage difference (I can't really be sure of the potency of the subs) or for some other reason.
Subjectively I've found the subs to be far more confusing and insane - feelings of craziness, as opposed to a much more mellow, calm, enlightened feeling on the cubes. Is that purely a dosage difference, or do you guys find consistent characteristics of certain strains/species of psilocybes?
I mean, I understand the active constituents are mostly the same (psilocybin, psilocin), but also that there are some closely related alkaloids that may be present - especially in the subs.. So perhaps that's where the difference lies?
