Ipomoea tricolor flowering
    #15206726 - 10/10/11 06:12 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

My entire backyard is overrun with Ipomoea (in flower at the moment) so how long after flowering should I expect to see seeds?

Also whats the verdict on using these?  too much effort?

it looks like I have at least a hundred plus flowers its literally taken over the entire backyard lol

So I believe this plant replaces the place where the flower was with a seed pod.  Each seed pod contains ~4 seeds.  It takes a few weeks (2-3) after the seed pod develops in order to harvest the seeds.  I recently collected ~250 of these ground them up fairly well (in an herb grinder) and did a cold water extraction.  I didn't feel a thing  .  I would suggest you get around 500+ and a CWE to make it worth your while.

wow so im basically looking at harvesting the entire backyard for a dose lol

Well I guess the stuff grows like a noxious pest around where I live but harvesting a acre for a dose seems a bit hardcore!

Like a beer after mowing the lawn in summer I will have to EARN it

Wait until the seed pots turn from green to brown and harvest them before the seeds fall out. Each pod will have 4-6 seeds. Its ridiculously easy for and the plant grows like a weed!
