Planning on making jars tomorrow, but....

I only have a limited time to make the jars, as I have work later in the afternoon. So, can you tell me if this sounds reasonable: I plan on getting the jars into the pressure cooker around 4, and finished cooking at about 5. Now, I'm going to be pressure cooking all the jars at once so, can I leave all the jars in the pressure cooker untill I'm ready to innoculate, after releasing all the pressure? If not, can the jars be moved around a little, like transported in car, so I can innoculate later? Also, how long do I have to let the jars cool before innoculating, is 6 hours sufficiant, or should I wait untill the next day?

My friend left his in the PC overnight before innoculating and had no problems. He moved them around quite a bit also. He's quite a noob so you should probably wait for more educated advice.

nice to see another philly person....have fun

Thanks guys, I'll wait to see if I get a few more answers before doing any thing.

I'll try to have fun, but I'm sure most of the fun will come after the final product is dried and ready to be eaten.

The jars take overnight, as in 8 to 12 hours to cool, by themselves.

Transporting hot/warn jars is okay, so long as it is in something clean & dry.

Don't rush.......nature...............or fubars happen............ :frown:
