Enriched water/ph
    #1519907 - 05/04/03 04:58 PM (20 years, 10 months ago)

So he had this pile of straw/cow poo (fresh poo) sittin together composting. Here's a pic of it:

Shit didn't work out with using it as a bulk substrate, not a big enough pile to compost. So he decided to use it to make some "special" water for the pf tek. He just took some water in a bowl and soaked some of the poo and straw. Then he put it through some cheese cloth and cooked it up in a jar, so as to store it. His question is will this fuck up the ph if used as the water in the pf tek? The compost didn't really compost basically. It reeks. Would you just use it as is? He's going to look for litmus paper to check the ph tomorrow.

He can just imagine how nice those cakes would do cased.

Straw/Poo water is nutrient rich. It can also contain some nasties, so my foaf suggests you pasturize and/or sterilize it, before use. My foaf hydrates bulk compost substrates with something simular. He gets some stout shrooms.

Thanks 6T. It's sitting in the freezer sterilized.
