Marijuana Bust Leads To Dishonorable Discharge
Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Pleads Guilty To Charges

POSTED: 6:40 a.m. HST April 27, 2003

HONOLULU -- A highly decorated Air Force pilot faces a dishonorable discharge after pleading guilty to charges of possessing and using marijuana.

Lt. Col. Jonathan Wills was also sentenced to 14 days in the Ford Island brig at Pearl Harbor after entering his pleas during an April 15 court-martial.

Officials say Wills was caught trying to smuggle less than one gram of marijuana through a security checkpoint at San Antonio Airport last May 31.

An Air Force spokesman says the marijuana was discovered when Wills was asked to turn down the waistband of his underwear during a routine security screening.

A urinalysis revealed Wills had used marijuana.

Wills had been on temporary duty in San Antonio and was returning to Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, where he was assigned to Pacific Air Forces headquarters.

Everyone has there sweet tooth

--------------------
One of the reasons marijuana is illegal today because growers in the 30s lobbied against hemp farmers -- they saw it as competition, because It is not chemically addictive as is nicotine, alcohol, or caffeine.
