If you are involved in marijuana legalization or the marijuana industry, you need to read this

If you are involved in marijuana legalization or the marijuana industry, you need to read this By Eapen Thampy, on July 5th, 2011
The federal government is after you. They do not care if your state government has passed laws allowing you to conduct business, whatever facet of the cannabis business you might be in. They do not care if your customers are patients with Ehler-Danlos Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, or terminal cancer. They do not care if you’ve never been involved in a “real” crime in your life, if you pay your taxes on time, or if you go to church. They do not care if you are the mayor of your town or the hobo on the street.
The only thing that these federal law enforcement agencies care about is their money. Because when they raid you, your house, your business…they are looking for cars, houses, and cash.
When they raid you, they will have a chase car on scene. When the jackbooted thugs break down your door, guns blazing, they will search your house and the entirety of your personal effects. If they find any evidence, any mention, of a bank account, of personal wealth…they will take it.
They will take your money before you can hire an attorney to defend you in a court of law, and they will actively try to keep you from using the federal law that allows the provision of counsel for people who can’t afford it.
They will bankrupt you before they charge you with a crime.
If your mother wrote you a check or sent you a bank note, they will seize your mother’s bank account.
If your child has a piggy bank, or perhaps received a large cash gift for a birthday…they will take that too.
If they suspect you are a “drug dealer” they will time their raid to the best of their abilities to catch you with cash. I have found that law enforcement across the country will routinely and uniquely delay the service of warrants in “drug” crimes to maximize seizure revenue, rather than prevent the “drugs” from being sold to the community.
If you are innocent and you have had your property seized, they will threaten you if you attempt to get your property back. I know dozens of people who were hit with criminal charges after they challenged the civil seizure of their property. They will threaten your citizenship status if you look like an immigrant or associate with anyone who is an immigrant.
If you challenge their seizure of your property, they will use a labyrinth of tricks and pitfalls to undermine your efforts. They will use the law of the high seas, laws designed to deal with violent pirates and terrorists, to persecute you in public and in private.
If you have the temerity to use the money you earn from providing products and services to consenting adults to purchase a nice car or any kind of visible luxury, you are a target.
They will laugh at you when you mention the Constitution or “rights”. Indeed, you may be reported to the FBI or Homeland Security for a “preliminary” assessment that the government does not have the legal obligation to keep a record of. In other words, they can punitively investigate you without telling you or anyone else, and you will have no way to prove what they are doing to you.
They can use the Patriot Act to stalk you and find your property. Because to them, you’re not an American…you’re a cash cow that they can slaughter under the name of “public safety”.
These are people who have no decency, yet occupy positions of power and respect. They will lie, bold-faced and brazen, to a state legislature. Not even the attentions of Congress will provoke respect from them. Agency heads who are invited by Congress to testify on forfeiture abuses have a track record of declining the invitation and sending a subordinate.
These are people who have no problem shredding subpoenaed documents that might prove damaging to them.
They will pay their salaries from the money and property they take from you. They will also buy weapons from the military, because they have the money and the power. They will use tanks and men wearing back masks and machine guns to raid you at night, like the KGB in the Soviet Union.
Some federal agencies have even paid judges directly from forfeiture funds. Impartial justice? I think not.
You will not have a proper record of the property that is taken or who has it. If your property is damaged or destroyed during their raid, they will deny the allegation. If you win your claim, they will claim that they are protected by qualified and absolute immunity.
If you do file a civil rights lawsuit against the government for violation of your rights, get ready for a 5-10 year ordeal. If and when you win your lawsuit, the government will fight the judgment and the payment of attorney’s fees. This is so that other attorneys will think twice before challenging the government.
The issues surrounding marijuana legalizers are not issues of marijuana legalization. They are issues of mercenary law enforcement, people who put on the blue uniform and the badge and go looking for plunder.

Im just gonna add if you vote and give a shit about your freedom do not vote for Obama under any circumstance. Ron Paul is the only president who gives a fuck about your freedom and if you think he's unelectable he just won another straw poll today beating out Herman Cain in second so he could win if people vote - http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2011/10/paul.html
The government is disgusting with marijuana though. The people in Cali should definetely revolt if they have a way to do so. If I owned a shop there I'd be looking into getting army tanks right about now.

Are feds going down the lists of medical cannabis users? Is it foreseeable that they will be in the future?
This is my only concern really. I don't smoke often, but I'm thinking of getting the medical card because if I do get caught with possession I can't work in my field any more. Part or my work is testifying in court as an expert witness, and anything like public intoxication or possession won't go over well.

Ron Paul will abolish the Patriot Act and he cares for your freedoms more than you. If you guys rather not be fre and loose your civil liberties keep voting for the same type of people who only care about themselves. I know one thing that if Ron Paul doesn't become the next president then were all doomed and will lose our rights and civil liberties. Now they can attack and assassinate American citizens without due process. What if they don't like your views and call you a threat, kill you without a trial. If that isn't dangerous then I don't know what is. This is how dictator ship comes into play and you will all fall slaves to the machine. Call me paranoid but if you really can trust your government and the media from all the lies you have herd and all the money of ours they have spent then you are still asleep and have not waken to see the truth for what it really is. Come on guys read and do research before passing judgment on a man that cares about our country and freedom. Ron Paul 2012

Do you think our country has been hijacked? Perhaps something is going on with those in the highest positions. Maybe there is a war between the good and evil right now. I know there has probably been one for most of existence, but now it seems like it is at its peak.

Anyone who thinks Ron Paul is crazy has very little knowledge on how the US constitution works, what our founders truly wanted for this nation or how economics work. We have had many warnings and examples of the problems we face today and many choose to completely ignore the only person bringing that to the table. History is also a great determiner of how the majority of people typically are easily manipulated by popular belief and that it is usually wrong in almost every situation. The best example of this being the voyage Christopher Columbus embarked on to prove the world was not flat, people wrote him off as being crazy as well. Another example is when people believed the Earth was the center of the universe. By voting for any candidate that is legitimately supported by mainstream media sources as being the popular choice, the person voting is most likely continuing that historical fact of being a part of an unknowledgable majority, as seen with Obama's supporters. Yes you did!(get scammed)
Dr. Paul may have religious views, which I don't even necessarily agree with myself, but he does not believe in forcing his views on religion upon anyone. For instance, Ron Paul often has a stance against abortion, but also says that he would make it impossible for the federal government to have any say in it, as that is not constitutionally legal for them to even criminalize anything because it wages war on the citizens. In other words, he probably will vote in favor of banning abortion on the state level, but on the federal level he says it is illegal for the government to get involved, and his voting record backs this.
Paul's stance on economics is pure and simple, he wants to eliminate the Federal Reserve. They do not have constitutional authority to exist and they operate in privacy and secrecy, when they should be entirely transparent. Not to mention we haven't even been allowed to see the gold that supposedly exists in Fort Knox for over 30 years. This is our counrty's true worth, if it is not there we are all broke and we will experience total economic collapse. Of course, Ron Paul expects an audit of Fort Knox to prove our true worth to both ourselves as well as the world, as we deserve to know, it is our money. It is also historical fact that economies that have relied on paper for money and not some sort of actual precious metal to prove actual worth experienced inflation and their economies suffered dramatically. Ron Paul wants to put an end to inflation and get us back on a stable currency system, which our founders vouched for on many occasions. Thomas Jefferson even stated that centralized banking systems are far more dangerous to our liberties than any standing army could ever be. Is it coincidence that we experience many of the very problems our founders warned of while also doing the very things they told us not to do if we value our liberties?
Another one of Paul's biggest stances is bringing ALL troops home from all countries. Who are we at war with? What country? It is constitutionally illegal for us to occupy any country we are not at war with, which congress needs to approve of. As well, giving aid to foreign nations is bad for two reasons: One, it causes disputes and creates jealousy among nations, we can't just expect to help one country without pissing another off. Another of Jefferson's famous quotes; "Peace and commerce with all nations, entangling alliances with none." Two, we do not have the money and it is absolutely retarded to continue building an empire while you have no money. As for empire building, all have tried and all have failed miserably, we are very egotistical to think we are somehow able to outdo the rest and as well, it goes against the very principles that founded this nation.
Paul's policy on the drug war is the same as his stance on abortion and all other lifestyle choices including gay rights. He is religiously obliged to be against these things, yet at the same time, and his voting record of nearly 30 years shows it, he is against government interference and it is constitutionally illegal as it wages war on the citizens themselves. Traditionally the federal government is only there to protect the constitutional law, not to continue expanding it's powers by waging war on the citizens while also taking money out of their pockets to pay for it. Ron Paul would have the authority to eliminate policies that contradict constitutional law on this basis and his voting record shows that he will in fact do so, which no other candidate can more sincerely say than he.
The fact of all of this is, we the people have lost our power over our federal government. They are meant to work for us, not we who work for them. People need to recognize that the federal government and all of it's liberty-threatening and unconstitutional programs should be minimized. People who work for the federal government need to recognize that they are only continuing our existence as an empire and it is causing problems economically by forcing taxes down our throats to pay for their beloved jobs which take away from our civil liberties as well as our wallets. Welfare is a scam; get a job, grow your own food, build your own house, or lose the child which you should not even have anyway if you can't take care of it, don't expect government handouts. I shouldn't be forced to pay for someone else's laziness. Same goes for healthcare, people are gullible to think the government is helping by giving us free healthcare. Imposing taxes on people to force feed them healthcare in which only certain doctors will accept, is further forcing people to not have as much of a choice. Equality is not fair, it is the same base communism stems from. Yes all men, women, and in my opinion, non-human life forms were created equal, but forcing equality upon the people is definitely not a traditional founding principle.
The federal government should not be forcing anything upon its citizens, it should only be there to protect our civil liberties from threats both foreign and domestic. Call Ron Paul crazy, but he is the only one sincerely trying to put the federal government in their place for your rights which they are taking away. He's warned us countless times since his first run for president back in '88 and I trust that he is on to something and the way the media portrays him is even more reassurance for me. Our government has shown how corrupt it is on some fronts, our founders say they are actually corrupt on almost, if not all fronts, it seems. Ron Paul is the only one willing to put an end to all of that corruption while also proving a solid voting record that shows it.
-------------------- Dr says to stop trying to treat the side-effects of big government and focus on the core issues. End the Federal Reserve/audit the gold reserves at Fort Knox, abolish the IRS, end all wars and occupancies, stop the building of an empire that will inevitably fail, and cut all unconstitutional federal programs. Put the power back in the peoples' hands by ending this nanny-state.
