Question about holes in SGFC

So from what I understand, I'm supposed to drill 1/4 inch holes every 2 inches in a grid pattern. The problem is, the only drill I have that ill accept my 1/4 inch bit runs out of battery after about 3 holes. I have another more reliable drill but the largest quick load bit I have is 1/8 inch.
I know it would be twice as much work, but would it do any harm to drill 1/8 inch holes every inch instead of 1/4 inch holes every 2 inches?

An 1/8" hole is only 1/4th of the surface area as a 1/4" hole.

Yea just get a 1/4 bit man. You'll probably have problems if you try and compensate.

So if I decided to go with 1/8 inch, it'd be every half inch... screw that! lol I guess i'll go get a bit tomorrow. My reliable drill is a mechanics' speed driver. It turns a little slower than the real drill but it last a lot longer. Really wish I had the cash on hand to just go get a real drill with a cord...

1/4" every 2 inches was monotonous and somewhat time consuming, I can't imagine doing 4 times as many holes

yeah i used my gas powered soldering iron (love that thing!!!), sat out in the garden chatting with my girlfriend. It was all going great until a little drop of molten plastic dropped onto my trousers, right on the groin, and now it looks like i have a jizz stain on them, haha
next time i'll have a sheet of newspaper on my lap

If you want to go ghetto just get something 1/4" thick and strong, and hold a lighter over the outside of your tub for a few seconds, then stab it through. You'll need a knife to cut away the excess/misshapen plastic, but it's cheap!
