To cut, or not to cut?

So, afoaf once read in an article that was attained by a post in this forum, about wild mushroom picking. It says that when picking, you should bring along a pair of scissors and 'NEVER' pull the mushroom out, but that it should be cut. afoaf's test is underway as of right now. Can anyone elaborate on the subject?? Jake

My dawg would pick esp. if they are on a casing or cake. Reason being is that when cutting you leave some of the stem which in turn decomposes, and then openly invites contams to ruin your further flushes.

the exception is that pieces mushroom left on your casing will not rot and will just grow over with mycelium in time.

NP Jake, I hope your aren't reffering to the Shroom Wizard tek, as he suggests such methods. They have failed many, and left a bad taste in my dawgs mouth the first time he tried the tek
