Here is one of my cakes starting to pin. I had some ones that didn't fully colonize and pin but this one is golden. Yes I know they are pint jars.


Just thought I share.

i might be way off the mark, but ive read that if your cakes are fruiting invitro like they are without being near 100% colonised, then its a sign of bacteria.

what percent is your cake at? becuase from the pic it looks less then 50%?

i think hes using a pint jar with xtra verm barrier, it looks colonised to me and ready to fruit

Nah thats the verm layer, my gf put to much on top. that cake is 100% just to much FAE.

Yes, invitro pins while in the cake are a great sign from my experience.  It means your cakes will probably bust into mushroom bushes once they hit the fruiting chamber.  Just make sure you give them enough FAE once they are out of the jars, or else they WILL stunt.  Humidity is important, but FAE is a must for healthy mushies.
