myco bag 98% done, fruit now?

ok, so my myco bag has shown very little growth since it reached 95% which was about a week ago. it looks all good, except there is 3% right at the bottom corner, which probably doesnt get enough gas exchnage even though i have turned it on its side.
i know im supposed to wait 7 days after full colonisation , but since it since intent on leaving a bit, should i just open that bitch and let it do its thing?
i know i sound impatient, and i am. but i wanted some experienced advice on these bags, since its my first.
thanks for any input

I wouldnt..Im using rye bags now, and have found thru observations that oneday it wont grow, and the next day it will...You'd ideally want to spawn that bag to a bulk of some sort anyway..or leave the bag closed until you see pins and then chop the top..but dont open it if you wont be there to fan and mist..it'll just dry your bags contents

ok, (i meant open it and fan mist) thnaks though.
so i should untill pins develop? that just seems like weeks away unless i induce fruiting
have you used these bags before?
i wont be spawning to bulk. i know its more efficient, but time is much more of an issue then quantity. id be happy with 100g wet.cos its just for me.

You can induce fruiting, but I'd bet the yeild wont be as much as if you just let nature takes its course..I was told to just let the mushrooms tell you when to open the bag..and when you open it, lay a piece of wax paper over the top.

If you really think GE is the issue, why not break it up and mix up the substrate, and then give it a week or two to consolidate?

i really didnt want to mash it up again, incase i harmed it. and i really dont want to wait another 2 weeks for consolidation. i just had another look and i think i know the problem; its GE because the corner im talking about - the bag is collapsed in on itself a little bit, its really dense which is definatly reducing GE. i just wanted to know if im taking risks fruiting now?
also, i have just seen these things at the top, they are not pins, but they look like tiny little white things that resemble a bit of string poking up. is that a sign of ready to fruit?
masticore - great sig

Well you're probably not risking much by fruiting it now, if air really can't get down there I doubt it'll contaminate, since you're fruiting in the bag. If you can, it might be worth cutting that part off, but it's probably unnecessary.
EDIT: Oh and thanks lol

Ill be spawning mine to hpoo in a couple smaller sized trays as I only have a LB left..You can cut it open, mix in some substrate of your choosing and mix it together and let it colonize that and fruit...or cause it sounds like your being impatient LOL you can open that bad boy now and begin fruiting..either or...its your learning experience..as well as everyone elses

You can burp the bag to help with GE. Worked well with my mycobag

ok guys, its still leaving about a 10 pence size at the bottom. im really tempted to open the bag and case, ive heard if i fan enough (4 times an hour) then contams wont happen, so they shouldnt be able to get the bottom anyway right?

Fanning often will help make sure some contaminates won't happen. If you're going to go for it, go for it. I still say you should cut that portion out if you do though. How do you plan on fruiting it?

thnaks for the input masti, i was planning on just fruiting in the bag but with the top cut open as the myco company suggests. i cant cut it off without taking the whole thing out of the bag - so im reluctant on that one.
lets take worst case senario : if i cased it now, and a contamination happened in that bottom crease in the bag, would i get no fruits? or smaller flushes?
i can deal with smaller 2nd,3rd,4th flushes.
i cant find a grow log with a comtam while fruiting.

If it contaminates, you can still fruit, depending on what it is. Some are harmless to humans, some aren't so harmless. The problem most people worry about is danger to future grows. I've heard of people moving out of there homes because they couldn't grow anything but Trich. Granted, that is an unlikely scenario.

wow that sounds a bit extreme!
its almost there so yesterday i cut the bag open and cased with the polymer casing they provide and resealed with cloths pegs.
should i fan now or wait until the myc reaches through the casing?
there was loads of casing so i didnt use it all, i was worried it was too much becuase i have got an inch at least of casing above the myc, and i didnt want it to stuggle through.
myco bag makers suggest that now i cover the sides and bottom of the brick so it only fruits from the top, is this neccessary? will it reduce yeild if i jst leave it to fruit from all angles?

I doubt it will reduce yield but it can be a pain to harvest if you fruit from all angles and don't and don't take it out of the bag. Covering the sides will help, but doesn't guarantee it won't fruit where it wants anyway.

ok cool, well ill just leave it then, but should i wait for the myc to take over the thick casing layer or start to fan and mist now?

I've never cased a substrate, I'd do some searching through the forums unless someone more expirianced chimes in.
