 Man Busted for Marijuana After Petting K-9

If you have marijuana in your pocket, it's not a good idea to pet a patrolling police dog.
The Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin reports that 48-year-old Kelly Simpson was busted Wednesday after he stopped to pet K-9 Tarah, who was on foot patrol with her handler in Endicott.
Police say Tarah smelled marijuana and alerted the officer.
Simpson was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and released on an appearance ticket.
Not much info here, but a decent pic.

this guy did something very stupid, yes, but i don't think HE'S stupid.
he was obviously so high and he wanted to pet the dog, which is something i could totally relate to because german shepherds are awesome dogs.

The article says nothing about him being high. Do you have some source you'd care to post? Or do you have mind reading abilities?
I'm 54, been smoking since I was 13. I have never walked up to a cop while high, and I sure as fuck would go out of my way to avoid a police dog.
I'll stick with my theory that he's stupid.

It said they were on foot patrol. Unless he's undercover, he should be wearing some type of work uniform.

Im willing to bet he was high. And I don't know, these k-9 handlers are often out and about walking their dogs both undercover and in their free time. Im always suspicious/ try to avoid people with k9s/landsharks..

Lol he probably doesnt know much about k-9 police dogs, not all are meant to search for weed, there biggest priority is bigger drugs and being able to smell someones scent. weed is fairly minor, and depending on where you live like maybe the city (NYC), your k-9 would be sniffing everyone for weed if that was the case

hahahha thats to funny. this is in my hometown too. the area is the most polluted place in nys because ibm dumped cpu cleaning chemicals into the ground. after that the town went downhill wicked fast.

High or not, it was a dumb idea. Not calling the guy stupid, just saying that if you possess ANY illegal substance, there is NEVER a good motive for voluntarily approaching the popo.
