I just ended up with my friends shroom setup through some unfortunate circumstances with 4 cakes in an aquarium, 1 in a jar, a humidifier and lamp setup for the top of the aquarium with a timer. however, i don't really know too too much about doing it myself. my questions are how often do i need to fan the cake? what cycle do i keep the lamp on? and how often do i need to use the humidifier and for how long at a time? Thanks

Humidifier, probably never unless you have static electricity from touching light switches
Light schedule is 12 on 12 off...80% of light is accepted from the sides, see if you can maneuver that
Mist and fan as needed, if properly setup and dunk and rolled then usually 3-4 sessions per day, mist and then fan
All of these are basic non specific questions that are answered with some searching

lol never? you should keep the humidifier in the terrarium at 100% always. A simple humidity meter will tell you if its at 100%. As for the lighting, yesss 12 on 12 off.
Any other questions, just ask, thats what the forums for.

Put a few inches of perlite in the bottom of the aquarium (or better yet ditch the aquarium and get a similar sized clear plastic tub and drill some holes in it for FAE) and u will never need a humidifier. Perlite keeps my rig between 95 and 99% humidity at all times. Fan as often as you can, at least 2 or 3 times a day. Theres lots of info in the archives, just use the search bar and you will find all u need to know.

Thanks, this forum is extremely helpful. I did look around first for answers on other threads but most proposed similar questions but not exactly the answers i needed. Anyway my light on the tank just fell on 2 of the cakes and cracked one down the middle and crushed another one. : ( lame
