Questions about buying a mobile home

Hi,
I'm going to be moving to a med state from a red state in around 6 months. I'm a young IT contracter skipped school and am getting more certifications. Cannabis is medicine for me and I want a good stash for me. I can pull together 8k-10k and buy a mobile home in a park and afford several months living expenses. I called around and it looks like most places don't rent which sounds like better security, but more initial investment.
Whats the mobile home game like, man? All I know is they range in price and it's on more of a lot-fee than rent situation. How common is FLIR in Michigan?
Regards

http://www.consumersunion.org/other/mh/brochure.htm has some good info on what to look for
http://www.mhvillage.com $7,900 buys a better insulated trailer, but this can be financed. $6,000 seems ok, too.

A mobile home is a never-ending liability. Not only does it depreciate and fall apart over time, it also will have ongoing expenses like taxes and land rental that will probably never get less expensive over time and will require contracts of some sort, etc.
Why not just rent a place? Financing a $7,000 mobile home sounds about as stupid as financing a hamburger. It'll be gone and consumed by the time you pay for it..

In a year's time I could buy that 7,000 mobile home outright. Renting works fine and could get me up to Canada quicker.
