Fruiting in the bag will not get you even close to the yield of a tub. Consider the surface areas you're working with and the nutrients and water content you make available to your mycelium. It's not even comparable, really.
Preparing a monotub with coir and verm is a small investment in terms of time and money. It's not a challenge, I just did it myself. It's worth the return on investment many times over.

Thank you sir. Just the answer I was looking for. I already have half the ingredients for a monotub. All I really need is the substrate. + 5 shrooms! One more thing. Where would you recommend buying coir and vermiculite? Is that something I could buy locally at a hardware store perhaps?

I got my coir from Petco and my vermiculite from Lowes. The Walmart near me had neither, just as a heads up.

Yeah, I'm just kinda skeptical of the rye bags ability to fruit inside the bag. Either way I think I'd prefer to almost double my yields by puting them in a monotub. It only takes about another week from what I've gathered, and shoud only cost me twenty bucks. Do you guys think that one three pound rye bag would be enough to inoculate a 25 gallon tub? If so I may go ahead and get me two tubs going.
