I just looked into my incubator today.. 6 days after innoculation to find this..
a
I'm not sure if it's blueing.. or some sort or greenish blue contam. it seems to be all over, and when the jar lids where lifted they let out a dense mist. Was that just humidity escaping?.. or possibly a vapour produced by the contam??..

please help,
seth

I'm no expert but that dont look too good. I would wait till someone with a little more knowlage answers your question but untill then leave the cover on and..DONT SMELL IT! what ever you do dont open the lid and take a big whiff as I have read that some molds can be dangerous and even deadly. Good luck to you but I'm afraid that ones destened for the trash.

I don't have a ton of experience with growing yet..but I have seen blueing on my cakes and green mold...and unfortunately that looks like green mold too me....specially so early in colonization...I didn't notice any bluing until almost 100% colonization..also I know green mold can let out a dust like the vapor your talking about...I think mycophat is right when he says its destined for the trash

Thats Trichoderma spp. and it will fuck you up in the bad way. Pitch the jar.

Yeap, green mold, probably Trichoderma like Jon_Doe said. Follow the advice and toss it.

Yeah.. there long gone, already on my way with a second batch!

That damn Trich is nasty stuff. I didn't breath any of it in, but all four jars when opened let out a heavy vapor. Are these the spores??  I hope I don't keep getting this stuff!!  :frown:  Anyone have reoccurring problems with the green??.. Even while working out of a good glove box?

Thanks for the help,
Seth
