Amanitas everywhere!!
    #15183042 - 10/05/11 09:12 PM (9 years, 6 months ago)

While on the way back from breaking up with my girlfriend I found a rather uplifting treat under some of the conifers in her neighborhood. right away my eyes were caught by these gigantic amanita pantherina(?) mutants which as far as I know are poisonous. They had no concentric ring around the bottom.

Then in the next yard... Gold! I found the prettiest amanita muscaria I think I have ever seen!

Closer to home, I found that the baby muscarias have made good progress as well and thought hell might as well snap a pic. So heres that.

What speceies of muscaria might these be anyways? here is a bigger one that was knocked over a bit early a week or 2 ago.

The first ones look like Chlorophyllum rhacodes. Print to be sure.
The rest are A. muscaria var guessowii I think.

For number 1, if you get a white spore print don't confuse it for an Amanita! Like Bob said, it looks like either Chlorophyllum rhacodes (white spore print) or Chlorophyllum molybdites (greenish spore print).

The last one may be Amanita muscaria var. persicina (literally 'peachy Amanita', lol) due to the coloration. It may be var. guessowii though.

My bad. A buddy of mine said they were a type of amanita. I really am only looking for my muscimol. Chlorophyllum rhacodes are smaller I though? I will go outside and grab them for prints

Edit. Yes they are definately Chlorophyllum something. I see now that they grow pretty  big. I'm still learning haha. My bad on the call before research there. Thanks for the ID on the peachy amanita, as I had wondered.

Most of them look like A. muscaria var. guessowii like Bob said. He is an Amanita pro! Listen to him, not me :sunny:

The last photo is the one that most looks like var. persicina to me.

I see what you're saying, suchen, but I'm not sure if it's var. persicina. I've never seen anything that I would call that in NY. I do notice different "varieties" here. Not sure what to make of that yet.

It was definitely very different looking (and so are the others) from most other varieties I have seen around here. They were not very strong though.

When I first researched Siberian tribal use of fly agarics and read that the shamans ate them and then pissed in bowls so that the common folk could trip balls I was like :facepalm3:

Their lives must have SUCKED if they were drinking some dude's piss to escape reality for a few hours. It's a big no-no to judge other cultures in this fashion I'll admit, but

LMAO. Just LMAO! I actually thought about doing that just to be a dick.. But I flushed it all  I had a relatively mild trip last night. But nonetheless I enjoyed myself. I would not have enjoyed it so much had I drank piss, I'm sure.

Bear Grylls would eat Chuck Norris alive if they were lost in the woods together.

Especially if he had just drank Amanita piss. His strength would be unimaginable! Then again... Chuck's usually got that can of whoopass handy. It would be a close call man.
