make sure the presure gauage works, if not theyre cheap and easy to replace.
im not an expert, but theres not much that can go wrong with an all american other than the hole may clog sometimes if people dont know what theyre doing, or the pressure gauge is old or faulty.

The pressure gauge on AAs doesn't matter, as long as it's sealed. They're geared gauges & don't show you the actual PSI the Pressure cooker is at. Mine sits between 13-14 PSI when it's running @ 15 PSI. The toggle weight is what you go by.
& yes, make a run w/ it there @ the dudes house up to 15 PSI, to make sure the thing will pressurize.
Take it all apart & inspect it closely.
Figure out how desperate the dude is & low ball the shit outta him. He may not even realize what he has.

Another little trick of bartering taught to me by my grandfather is money talks. When you offer the $80-100 pull it out, let him see it, it is right here, you can smell it, you could reach out and touch it. You would be surprised what people will let go if you wave some cold hard cash in front of their face.

Just don't let an extra $100 slip out w/ it. Keep several different wads in different places. That way you can stick w/ "that's all I got man, take it or leave it".
I talked a guy down that wanted $120 for a scarf to $20 cuz I had $25 & needed to eat lunch still.

Good points TL,
If you say take it or leave it and he is still dead set on say $125-150, and it is worth it to you tell him you have to go to the bank, or meet your spouse to borrow the $$. Get in your car, go for a short drive then come back with the money. Sometimes when you start talking about having to leave to get money people will assume you are not coming back and will drop the price instead just to get that cold hard cash out of your hands.

Yea, you gotta love the AA, man. I can do 14 quarts in the AA930 w/ 4 cups of water & have a bit more than 3 cups of water left over after a 2 hour run. Another thing to keep in mind when running PCs is that the toggle weight should only jiggle once every 1-2 minutes. I've found that by doing the above, I keep a large amount of water in the PC.

Yea, Start w/ 5-6 cups the first run, then when it's over pour the water out into your measuring cup. Then you'll know exactly how much you need. I'm normally around 5 cups of water when I run it, just for good measure. The water is just under the trivets @ the bottom.
