im saving up to buy this right now but first i have alott of questions on growing. (this will be my first time growing) ----------------------------------------------------------------
will it come with everything i need?
would it work to grow them in an attic area that has no air conditioning and is real hot?
how good are these mushrooms after they are grown? (potency)
how much will be grown?
when will i know when theyre ready to dry?
does the kit come with a way to dry the mushrooms? if not then i need a technique on how to dry them.
does anyone have any reviews of this kit or the shrooms grown from this kit?
there are some spider webs in my attic area, does it matter if they get on the shrooms after i add the compost?
how do i keep them fresh after drying so i can keep them for a while?
how long does the whole proccess take? ----------------------------------------------------------------
thank you and i know that there are alot of questions but someone pleasse try to answer them

Why would ask all these questions about a product that this website does not sell nore endorse? Kits are also not "Advanced Mycology". If you want the answers to your other questions
Use The Search Function.
Oh and with the $120 dollars that the kit costs you would be able to buy all the supplys you needed to do it yourself from scratch. Also why would you grow them in your attic? Do your parents not go up there often?

In other words, you're asking "How do I grow mushrooms?"
Although you might find a fellow beginning enthusiastic to share their knowledge, these are the kinds of questions you could answer yourself if only you'd put an amount of effort in researching the topic as your asking generous people to put into answering your long list of questions.
Also, you've posted absolutely newb questions in the Advanced Mycology forum.
With that out of the way, I'll offer the first bit of advice: don't bother with a pre-packaged kit.

save money, dont use kits!
plus to me its alot more pleasing and fun to do everything yourself. knowing you made something great from scratch is a great feeling.

This thread was moved from Advanced Mycology.
Reason: Basic cultivation question. Off topic in advanced mycology. RR

Oh and with the $120 dollars that the kit costs you would be able to buy all the supplys you needed to do it yourself from scratch. Also why would you grow them in your attic? Do your parents not go up there often?
, please use the search function or go the mushroom cultivation section of the main page, or even better watch some of Roger Rabbit's videos.
However, here are your answers:
will it come with everything i need? Need the link to the kit. However, you'll need a spore syringe, sterilized jars of substrate, and a growing chamber.
would it work to grow them in an attic area that has no air conditioning and is real hot? Not well. You want temperatures to be from 60-80*f, with ideal temperatures at 25*c.
how good are these mushrooms after they are grown? (potency) This will depend on the strain that you buy.
how much will be grown? depends on pretty much everything under the sun. Temperature, Free Air Exchange, Relative Humidity, Light, and so much more.
when will i know when theyre ready to dry? Once the veil tears or the caps flatten out. Many people harvest them before that.
does the kit come with a way to dry the mushrooms? if not then i need a technique on how to dry them. Gotta use that search function, most kits will not come with drying materials.
does anyone have any reviews of this kit or the shrooms grown from this kit? Not I.
there are some spider webs in my attic area, does it matter if they get on the shrooms after i add the compost? Don't let anything get in your jars, on your substrate, or in your growing chamber except fresh air that has been filtered.
how do i keep them fresh after drying so i can keep them for a while? Store in a cool dark place.
how long does the whole proccess take? 1-3 months.
If you need to be this stealthy you are better off just buying them from a friend (or just asking!) if you want to trip. If you are at the parents still, this is the best advice I can give you: Be patient and wait until you move out. The key to go growing mushrooms successfully is being patient.
Best of Luck to you
Mack

You need to go here: www.mushroomvideos.com
Watch those videos, and follow the instructions explicitly. Dont cut any corners.
Take your $120 and use it to buy the following items.
Large Pressure Cooker 1/2 pint wide mouth jars Medium or Fine grade vermiculite Brown Rice Flower A large clear storage bin Perlite
And one spore syringe from one of the sponsors listed here: http://www.shroomery.org/sponsors.php
If you go with a large pot that you already have, then you can do without the PC. You could be into your first harvest of mushies in 2-3 months for the price of about $50. Though I would recommend the PC.
You may already have a lot of those items on hand. If you have brown rice in the cupboard and a blender for instance, use that for BRF. Check the closets and garage for clear bins. If you have a big ass pot, that cuts down the cost too. Most expensive part is your first spores, and the PC, if you decide to go that route.

Hey OP, forgive the rough treatment....W-junkie just laid it all out better that I could have. Do exactly as he suggests, and you will get fruits.
(unless you are at home with parents, then try sclerotia....kidding)
Good luck,
JD

Dude he didn't put one iota of effort into researching anything. And I don't think the underage jokes were all that ruff. I see people on a daily basis get told to use the search function asking one or two of the questions he asked. If someone else wants to do his research for him, they can, but I won't. And the underage jokes were just that jokes.
But you are right, OP should look into sclerotia if he lives at home. But without reasearching that he would probably think sclerotia is some sort of testicular disease
