So after reading like 20 different threads I am more confused then before I started trying to figure this out.
What I want to know is how should a monotub be made into a fruiting chamber?
This is what I think is right but like I said I am more confused then before I looked for the answer so I am asking to confirm... First I drill holes where needed, put the bulk substrate in the monotub and mix the spawn substrate with it. After that I place polyfill in the holes/cover tub with lid and keep closed until the mycelium is fully colonized. Once it is 100% I take polyfill out of holes to use it as fruiting chamber and proceed with the light/mist/fan cycle. To be more specific it is the holes I am having trouble understanding. I have seen some people say to use tape over holes then switch to polyfill for fruiting so what should I do?
Also, should I do the spawn>bulk in a bag the place the bag in the monotub? Or just use a bag to line the bottom of it before placing substrate inside? Or is it ok to not use a bag at all and just place substrate directly inside.

The point of a monotub is to leave the polyfill in and not mist or fan. If you do remove the polyfill, add a casing, fan and mist, it won't be a 'monotub'.
Non-cased, once you spawn you shouldn't need to do anything til it fruits. If you case, you open the tub, add the casing and close it. The polyfill never comes out.

A mono tub IS a fruiting chamber
During colonizing put duct tape over holes to keep CO2 high
After colonizing remove duct tape and replace with polyfill for filtered GE and to keep everything from drying out
Mix spawn with sub in the tub. Lining with a trash bag is optional but recommended for easy removal of substrate. Like for dunking in between flushes or for disposal
