only one jar starting!!

hey guys,
I know you veterans out there must get first timers posting all the time about their problems but i have a curious question that i would very much like answered. i used the search option too and could still not figure out what the deal is. Anyway here we go,
so i got my kit going (the kind that comes with the jars and such and i purchased a spore syringe needle from spores 101. i kept the temp around 77-80 degrees and the humidity quite high. the jars have been sitting waiting for mycelium to grow for over 13 days now and out of all the jars (12) only one has the start of some mycelium. Is the humidity too high or something? the inside of the jars look moist but as i said only one jar has mycelium growth starting. what did you guys think i did wrong? if one started i figured the rest would follow soon but its been 4 days and only the one is growing.
Thanks guys i really appreciate the help.

i have foil loosely ontop of the jars to prevent water from getting inside of them. Are you saying they should be exposed to open air? i have been keeping a lid on the container that they are in. There should be minimal humidity then?

Some sort of filter should have came on the jar lids for gas exchange. You don't want the foil on the lids. It can trap condensation and cause a contamination that can work it's way through the filter.
I would recommend you describe everything in detail or provide some pictures so we can see what you're doing.

It is recommended that you make your own jars for this exact reason- prepared jars, in addition to being expensive, are a luck of the draw. You don't know if the jars are old or fresh, too dry or too wet, contaminated, etc.
If you don't see growth within a week call it bad luck and make your own jars. Actually, I would just make your own jars now and forget about those premade jars after a week.
Has it been 13 days or 4?

depending on what your growing, It can take 2-3 weeks sometimes...
My biggest worry is that the spores are from that crappy 101.... they sell bunk syringes....

thanks guys,
I think i had it a little too humid. another spot of mycelium just started in another jar so hopefully the rest will follow soon as the humidity level drops.
Thanks for the responses and i will keep you all posted as the grow continues.

here are some photo's of what i got. i think that the jars are too wet, does that mean what i have growing is bacteria or something.
i posted two pics of each jar that was growing what i hope i hope is mycelium, a front view and a side view. the last shot is where im keeping them. note that i have normally been keeping the lid closed on the bin until i figured there was too humidity. let me know what im doing right or wrong. Thanks

Dont look contaminated to me! Id take that foil off them though... And I dont think it really matters if they are in the tote or not... Humidity isnt really an issue until after you birth the cakes.
They look a little wet.. but all in all looks ok. If they are a little wet they will probably be fine, just may colonize a little slower.
If thats an incubation chamber youve got them in... Id take them out. its not needed unless its cold... Room temperature is best, around 72-75. I learned from others here that 82-86 was making mine go slower... and its true.
