cake slices used for inoculation

Just wondering if i could take my cakes that are just starting to fruit (biggest one 2")cut a piece off and inoculate grain that has been fermenting for two weeks.
On a side note I don't have a wide range pH tester but the test I do have say its below 6, I have some API PH Down Aquarium pH ADJUSTER for testing curiosity.
I also have some liquid culture if anyone has tried it on fermented grain.
Comments?Ideas?

Shrooms to grain/LC is risky.

What? Fermenting the grain? I assume you are fermenting it in an attempt to try to sterilize it that way, i saw a tek somewhere on here about doing it that way. You should get a pc and do the grains that way, i doubt you will have worthwhile success trying to ferment them.

Can you send a link, or elaborate, on the fermenting grain? I've never seen grain prepared this way... but I'm all ears since I am also a brewer. Thanks!

fermenting works but it is slow, wet, and stinky. I'd avoid it.

heres the the link http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/8729280
im about 2 hours away from straining the grain and going ahead with trying out the cake slices and liquid culture.

From what I have read, it seems like a pretty new idea. It seems like people both praise and criticize the experiment. Either way it seems to have some potential, and whatever the idea may be it seems like a good one. That being said, it seems to still have some kinks to be worked out. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next year this could become a pretty fail proof way of growing. I still think it is in its early stages of experimentation. So any new grows or attempts could help out in the long run. I say go for it, and take notes often, and from every step of the way. I wouldn't expect great results, but keep in mind it could be a big help in the research of this new method. Especially with cubes.

Thanks for links!
Once I am able to do some experimentation, I will give it a try!

I've been experimenting with 'sterilizing' grains by soaking in water with ashes from our wood stove and getting some degree of success. If I ever get it worked out, I'll post a tek. I can say it's a lot quicker and less stinky than fermenting. RR

@RR: That I'm looking forward to.
I've known wood ashes to have quite a many uses with Marijuana, both with growing and cooking it.

What about flash freezing? Its used to store recently sterilized materials. Or even freezing for a long period of time...Say two months?
I have my dog on a raw meat diet, and when I lived on 70+ acres of land, I wanted to switch him to a game diet(rabbit, squirrel, deer, turkey, groundhog). When I asked about doing this, people told me, because animals in the wild aren't pumped full of anitbiotics and such; freezing the meat for over a month would be recommended.
I don't know if this has been tried, but would flash freezing/freezing for long periods of time give you usable sterile grain? Or at least grain that was free of harmful/unwanted contams?
