god damn son! might be PE6. either way, god DAMN son!!!!
i think i figured out the trick to a good pinset... ive got a bunch of tubs starting to pin now, and ive tried different techniques with each once of them.
i found that after fruiting a tub, if you let all the water evaporate off the substrate, and just keep fanning it, letting it dry out a bit, the substrate will start knotting and pinning up EVERYWHERE. it looks like ive got a bunch of clusters all over a couple of the tubs. i cant wait to see them in a week. theyre gonna be packin some nice mushrooms.
ive always heard fresh air exchange is key in pinning, and it sure is! let your sub dry up a bit and itll start knotting and pinning. i dont think ill even mist until they are at the actual mushroom stage.
some of my tubs i took the polyfil out of, and i still fan, but not as frequently as the other half of the tubs that have polyfil.

Well I've got another tub that is the treasure coast I originally thought was TC, so we'll see. I put polyfil in the two top holes i have in my tubs halfway during colonization and i think that is what made my pinset explode.

Looks like TC, but could be other similar cubes. Definitely not PE though. That's for sure! Still a beautiful flush though. I know I'd be proud.

I am definitely proud of my first monotub. I hope the next two turn out even better. These ones were just so damn skinny, when they dry they turn into nothing almost..

Long lengthy mushrooms with skinny stems means there was not enough FAE. Fan more often next time. You can clearly see in the pic that FAE was the problem. Just fan like 1-2 times a day real good and youll get real thick meaty stems.
It's currently raining here in Oregon time to go pick some cyans and libs.

IGetTight said: So I got home today to a sea of shrooms in my tub! I was real stoked. But they weren't the PE they were supposed to be. I think it's Treasure Coast. I got a syringe of each when i ordered back when. Anyone find it possible the labeled the two wrong?? Here's what I saw tho!

Does this look like treasure coast? If so, I beieved they mixed the two syringes up. And the tub i marked TC is actually PE and all my TC is reall PE....
....gawd. that was the biggest load EVAR

I dunno if I agree with that. When you get that type of pin set usually the mushrooms aren't all large and thick. Remember that's a lot of mushrooms feeding off of the same food and water, it would be impossible for them to all be big beefy shrooms. I think that if FAE was really a problem he wouldn't have ended up with such a nice harvest. Plus throw into it the genetic factor, and the fact that the company he got the spores from obviously mislabeled the syringe. He could be working with the john allen strain or something else that is notorious for skinnier shrooms.

If FAE was a problem the stems would be covered in myc and fuzzy.
That's definitely not PE but it's hard to say whether it TC or not. Cubes all look the same with a few exceptions like PE.
Chances are you could buy TC and get B+ and not know the difference

I've got my fingers crossed that the my tc tub is actually the PE. My polyfil was super loose in all the holes during fruiting and a ceiling fan on and another floor fan. I did have a bit of myc on the feet of the mushies, so chances are my FAE could've been better. But I'm sure it's strain than FAE that the stems were so skinny. I'll post my dry harvest soon, it's looking at about 4-5 oz dry maybe a bit more.

looks great dude congrats!!! PE can be alittle slower than other cubes so you'll be fine FAE is only concern maybe remove some polyfill or open one hole completly PEs are my favorite cube remember to wait until the stems start to swell and get all knarly looking before you harvest they really add a lot of weight due to solid meaty stems and if you see any caps that may have spores try getting some prints on foil or pick a nice younger specimen to clone and if you've never tripped off of PE they are DEFINITELY stronger than other cubes and more visual and steady with no waves just a solid 4-5 hour communion with nature and the mushroom guides enjoy my friend enjoy i'm actually getting ready to do the exact same thing with a mono after you try them they might be the only cubes you'll ever grow and if you need tips take a look at professor pinheads grows he does it right
