I wanted to give Ez Felt a try but don't know where to look. Is this something that could be found at Walmart? Micheals Crafts? Joe Anne Fabric? Help a brotha out.

Any craft store should have it I used hobby lobby, but my store had it in the crafts section not the fabric section. Employees recognize the stuff but usually don't know the name.

Yeah I didn't know if it was a specialty item or not. I also never have any luck calling a store and asking for an item, they always act like they are half retarded. Plus I looked online and cant find it at any stores website. I just don't feel like driving all around town for some felt haha. If anyone knows for sure, or has bought EZ felt at any of the stores I mentioned let me know. One thing we don't have is hobby stores, they all went under in the last couple of years.

Yeah, I just checked walmart...Didn't have it. So i went right up the street to jo ann fabric and picked some up. It wasn't easy felt, it was called stiffened friendly felt. Made from polyester so I think its the same thing just a different brand. Plus it's made from recycled plastic bottles so obviously that makes me more eco friendly hahaha.
I had been using the doc wbs tek for making my jar lids but decided to try the filter tops to save tyvek. I was using tyvek house wrap to make my filter tops, but its flimsy and mixing that with the way silicon is, it makes for a messy ugly finished product. Anyone have any experience with using tyvek as filter patches? I haven't seen a contam yet using it but my jars are only around 40% done so I won't know for a while.
Also I noticed in the easy felt tek that he cuts the sheets into discs and then makes small circles from that. I dunno why you wouldn't just make squares, that way you wouldn't waste any of the sheet. I could see making circles if it was filter discs because they are round, but making circles from a square seems silly.
