Spawning question...

I have verm, gypsum and coco coir readily available along with of course brf...
I want to attempt my first bulk grow but am not 100% confident that I know everything I need to know about the mixture ratio. Could someone real quick give me their opinion on the best ratios to use of these products I have listed for a good (if not great) casing mixture. Thanks ahead of time for the help

Try using grain spawn so you have more inoculation points --> faster colonization of bulk substrate.
As I understand it this also means there is less time for a contam to take over your bulk sub.

thanks for the responses guys! I may have been a bit misleading with my choice of words...noob here...let me see if I can be a little more clear on what I am trying to do..
I have about 9 brf jars finishing up colonization. I want to try and spawn into some trays instead of doing little cakes, and then fruit in a sgfc. I thik that link above may be a little more than what I want to attempt. If I wanna just spawn like 3 cakes, could I just mix up my substrate and put it in some jars and heat paturize them on the stove?? I think i read about doing so somewhere in this massive library of goodness at shroomery

then just use a 50/50 verm coir mixture? verm the bottom of the tray, then add layer of spawn, then add casing layer (after pasturized)? Am I on the right track?

I remember RR saying somewhere that BRF cakes perform better when fruited as cakes vs made into casing trays.
If you want to try higher yielding methods, look up spawning to bulk substrates.

Something to keep in thought, when spawning cakes to bulk...
1. A 1/2 pint cake traditionally has LESS than 1/4c of grain flour in it... and about 1/2 a cup of vermiculite...
2. A cup of grain roughly equals 1.5c flour...
3. Ignoring #2 above and just using figures from #1; you'd need a minimum of 12 cakes to equal one 3/4 full quart as far as nutrients are concerned... It's actually more, but flour is more readily available in way of nutrients.
4. Twelve 1/2 pint cakes have about 1.5 quarts worth of vermiculite...
In a nutshell; it takes way more cakes than one may realize to spawn to bulk; and you sure as hell won't need to add any additional vermiculite.
Best of grow to you
