Best lights for cactus? HPS v MH v FLO?
    #15162056 - 10/01/11 01:25 PM (9 years, 7 months ago)

I have quite a few cacti, as well as several seedlings, can the growing season be extended year-round without any adverse effects? I have some T. Pachanoi, L. Williamsii var. Caes, T. Bridgesii and T. Peruvianus.

Seedlings are the Williamsii and are about 10 months old, still pretty small.

I have 250w metal halide and HPS bulbs from previous endeavours that I'm not using, as well as some 25w fluoro's from mushroom cult use. I want to set them up to continue growing throughout the winter as the growing season here is short and my windows aren't south facing.

Anyone got tips/experience advice? Thanks all.

*I know the seedlings don't want too much heat/light, was thinking of putting them under a shade cloth. :peace:

i would stick to MH or T5s

i have T5s for mine in the winter, but im using it for my mushrooms right now cause the cactus can still be outside and get sunlight

Mine seem to like MH; but they'll still be ar risk of etoliating (Columnar ones), even at 1000 watts =/
