    #1515920 - 05/02/03 10:22 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Im posting this one under the philo, spirt, fourm because of often discussion of evolution is brought up here.

The beginning of the movie, starts off with a scene of something that looks alot like alex greys art. An invisible scetch (so to speak) of a person, then the camera zooms into the minds eye. During this time the explain on wiether mutants are just an advanced form of humans.

A good see, for "evolutionarys"

Anyone else see it?

I'll probably see it.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

I'll probably see it, though many hardcore X-Men fans say the first one was mediocore. As for mutants, I think they are already among us though not as exaggerated as in the movie

P.S. You do know that your avatar is a spoiler right? (which looks super cool btw!) I refuse to view any pictures or trailers for Reloaded, I feel it takes away from the initial viewing experience.

Actually... I think the opening dialogue was a rather poor excuse for an exposition/explanation of the role mutation (mu) plays in evolution (it's smaller than you'd think- more due to the ol' dominant/recessive gimmick than mutation itself.... bah). Most mutations don't make it through gestation (ie. miscarriages).

But the rest of the movie was at least 3 times as good as the first X Men movie.

I am a pretty hardcore X-MEN fan, and I thought the first movie sucked. I wish they hadn't even made it. But everyone says that this one is better. I am going to see it tomorow.

I want Halley Barry to have my mutant offspring.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

I went to see it last night, got in the theatre with some friends, sat down, watched the trailers (which included a great one for Matrix Reloaded), and just as the movie was about to start, there was a blackout... They made us wait 45 minutes before finally kicking us out and handing out free passes... *yippie!*

I was a little disappointed with the first one, it had a fair bit of the usual "Hollywood cheese" as I call it, melodrama or corny lines would be another way to put it, although not as much as most movies these days. I'm hoping that the romance plot between Iceman and Rogue won't be too lame.
