 From Spore to Shroom - Getting the hang of things now

Hey fellow shroomerites. After finally achieving a yield on my 2nd attempt(and enjoying a few very interesting first trips), I'm coming back strong for a 3rd grow. This will most likely be my last BRF/Verm grow, as I'm prepping for a monotub grow. So come, watch, and enjoy the view as the shroom caps tear their veils before your eyes and drop those beautiful, deep purple, single-celled haploids that keep us moving forward:
Strain - 10 PECA Jars + 4 Cambodian Jars = 14 Cakes
Substrate - 1/2 pint BRF/Verm
Fruiting Chamber - Shotgun Terrarium, with 4-5 inches of moist perlite
Lighting - Natural window light through blinds
Misting Schedule - Whenever I remember
8-31 - 14 Prepared Cakes go into PC
9-11 - Mycelium starting to spread
  
9-13 - Just two days later

9-28 - Say goodbye to your jars! (little invitro-pinning action there)
 
9-29 Welcome to your new home, take a look around

Well I don't have any exact humidity measurements, but I mist thoroughly a couple times a day. I've noticed that they like to change from moist to somewhat dry, instead of constantly moist. My setup is pretty much a standard shotgun FC I think there is a picture in my "2nd attempt" thread.

Are you talking about your cakes or your RH going from moist to dry?
I dont use a hygrometer so i just judge it by eye lol

Likewise, I just judge it by eye. The cakes never get dry as far as I'm concerned. But I like the humidity to fluctuate. That's probably a much better way of saying that haha

The Cambodian cakes are just beastly fast. 4 cakes already hit their first flush while the PECA cakes are just now starting to pin.
I'll be doing a very detailed spore -> syringe tek this afternoon hopefully so keep an eye out for that in the next coming days.

Alright guys, welcome back!! I had a great relaxing weekend away, and got to come back to a very mature PECA flush. Here is the before and after shot, 3 days apart:

This guy just wanted a little bit extra air
I normally don't like to let them drop spores everywhere and make a mess, but in this case I had no choice! And I can't say that I'm disappointed with my results

I know a cube is a cube but when it comes to growth, they are fast. I only have one other cube variety to compare to but they beat them by almost a week.

yo, this is damn fine. i too love the jar variety. i would suggest though filling your jars a little more to avoid leaving that air pocket at the top.
you did a great job dude, i love the commitment in doing a ton of jars all at once. and excellent picture posts! nothing better than having a pictorial journey!

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited about this grow, I promise I will post dry results as soon as this flush is done drying, but they still aren't "cracker dry" just yet.
There's a liiiittle bit of movement from the redunked cakes, but they still have some time before and serious pins start to come through. I'll post pics probably by tomorrow or the next day, but nothin much to see just yet stayed tuned everyone! Love the support.

What kind of weight does this look like to you guys? They aren't "cracker dry" yet, so I don't want to count my eggs before they hatch, but a rough estimate will keep me happy :-D

The rules:
1. You can only guess once, no changing guesses.
2. Guesses must be precise, no ranges (ex. 54.3 grams, 20g, .5oz)
3. I don't really know what else? Lol
They should be dry in a day or two! I'll post and let everyone know.
My guess will be.... 22.5 grams

Also... The first flush is officially cracker dry, no bending or leatheryness whatsoever. So the total dry weight is.......

38.9 grams! I don't believe it! I am by no means experienced in guessing weight, but I didn't think I would be off so badly!

I just had that happen on one of my cakes, I thought it might have been because of water directly misted on the caps or something, cause when it formed it didn't have the split and then a day or so before harvest the cap split open.

**10-24 Picture Update**
Sorry for being MIA for awhile guys, to be honest there isn't a whole lot happening with this grow anymore.
The flushes are fewer and further apart. I am going to let these cakes grow to their absolute limit though. The most recent pictures are select shots from the 3rd flush.
I plan on dunking for a 4th flush. Not expecting much, but I'm waiting on jars to colonize, so I may as well right??? 
I am getting some interesting looking shrooms, so it's keeping me entertained.
As a side note... Tested out the potency 2 nights ago. Took 2.15 grams with some frosted flakes for this show. (I know small dose, but it was my first time to trip in public). Got a really solid level 2 trip, and if you ever get a chance to see Beats Antique live, I HIGHLY recommend tripping. AMAZING show both visually and audibly.

This whole thread is sex. Let us know what the final yield of the whole grow was after this last flush! Currently have a similar operation going, only with 10 jars instead and I'm trying to get estimates on my total yield.

Well guys, I let these cakes flush out pretty much as long as they would go.
I would say all in all that I got about 65-75 grams dry. For 14 cakes, that's about 5 grams per cake. Not bad!
Unfortunately, the coir I ordered never showed up so I'm not ready for my monotub grow yet. But keep and eye out for my next in between grow. To keep me busy I'm going to do a 50/50 casing with probably just 4 jars. I'll post it up here whenever I get that thread going.
I want to thank everyone for all your support and helping me become a successful grower!
