Have an interview today for one I think. How bad is it?

:horly:

The things is, I had one last Monday as well but I didn't go, didn't answer my phone either. Not even sure if this is a call centre as the one on the phone was hard to understand. Also got a text and the directions are pretty much leading to the place that I dodged...

The one I applied at finally called me yesterday offering me the job. Got a three hour interview tomorrow followed by two weeks of training. They supposedly start you at around 10 or 11 an hour, so I'm really looking forward to it as I've only had restaurant jobs all my life.

Once my training is done I plan to get a second job though. Hopefully pull off a good 65-70 hours a week and start saving up the money. I've been partying too much this year.

Its not that bad but its annoying.  Probably easier if your on incoming calls.  I did outgoing and just dialing the numbers constantly pissed me off.  :hehehe:

If you want the money you just have to roll with it.  All jobs are annoying though.  Thats usually why someone is paying someone else to do them.

"Got a three hour interview tomorrow"

3 hour interview for a call centre? Titanic is 3 hours long...

Hmm, I need to find better work but not many places can be found online.

You're in Germany if I remember correctly, need to get back soon. Actually learning German with some back, picked up a bit over the summer too. Also maybe I have someone to teach me an hour a week for free.

i have heaps of friends who work in call centres, they say its fairly decent, the work isn't too difficult, the pay is good, generally working in the city so good food on lunch breaks and stuff. but they also said it can get a bit boring and monontonous after a while of doing the same calls day in day out.

I worked in a call center for pretty much a year, and it's the best job I've had so far. But the job might be hard for you depending on who you are. What I mean is that you are dealing with people over the phone, you have to help them solve their problems, so if you're not good at that you will RAGE AND YELL AT THEM. I've seen people literally screaming at the clients out of anger.

I was extremely chill at that, did my best to make them understand the important part, and if they still didn't understand (because yes sometimes you deal with complete fucking morons), well I just hung up and pretended the call dropped by itself. Fuck those people.

Be prepared to sit in front of a computer 8hours a day answering the same questions and doing the same boring repetitive tasks, for a decent wage though.

Yeah man, I'm down in Munich. The availability of jobs, especially in Bavaria, is much better. Also I remember making 8 bucks an hour part time working for UPS in NJ. Now I'm working for UPS making 14 euros an hour part time with payed vacation. That's a big difference. A buddy over in NJ recently told me how hard the job search still is.

It's what you make it. Having a good, calm attitude goes a long way.
I recently became a supervisor so I get to deal with the really mad people. But i'm so calm I actually get a kick out of it, some of the things ppl say are so ridiculous you just gotta laugh.

I had a guy tell me "if you don't waive this interest off i'm gonna make sure the rest of your life is a living hell."
I said "Ha! And how exactly will you do that? Let me remind you this call is being recorded, sir."

He was pissed I reacted like that, but he shut the fuck up.
