Lol, that's why i said it. Atleast rage tried something different, its at the very least, worth renting before you condemn it.

The micro managing I had to do with the weapons and armor. The messed up menus. what really set me off is it didn't save acouple of times and I lost literally hours of game time.
mass effect 2 is the shit though! I always find my self coming back to it inbetween games.

Happy to pay for bits of a game that coulda been included in the price...
Happy with developers trying to get 80+$ per sale. The work in making a game is in programming the engine, the fun part is designing the levels. It's a given that there will be lots of levels made after the engine's polished and the wheels are turning; the sad part is where console players made the idea that only developers can craft a quality map and the idea that maps are worth 10$ mainstream.
I agree, the game companies are on some serious BS with their DLC. A week or two ago they released some "DLC" for Deus Ex. For $3 you get a silenced sniper rifle(why you couldn't silence the original sniper rifle I have no idea), a shotgun, and a level that should have been sold with the original game. No fucking way am I buying that. I hope they choke on their $3.

Same here, dlc has gotten out of hand. I like the concept, but it is being abused by companies to squeeze every last red cent out of a game. I could understand the current dlc model if games were 30-40 dollars, but not when most are sixty new. This issue also bothers me in the fact that they charge the same to pc gamers as to console gamers, when pc is cheaper to develop for.

Just got my refund from Steam, pretty awesome customer service on their end. I am going to preorder skyrim with the cash I got back.

I had the same happen to me with Rage, and I know it wasn't my HDD. I would get the little autosaving sign, and then shut my xbox off. Apparently autosave doesn't save shit at all.
The game is pretty good though, minus the driving (which feels like a chore). The shooting is nice because it is actually a challenge with how the enemies move and act.

It's the best troll by a dev ever. No matter what platform you play on, the game will make you rage.

Wheres the beef?
I got the PC version on Steam and had no bug or glitch issues. Was a little disappointed the story was so short, wasnt open-worlded, and there was very little RPG elements.
But I still loved every second of the 22 hours I have dumped into that game.
Visuals were absolutely stunning!

Nvidia users had way less problems than ati users. Most of the issues were with ati cards. My buddy has the same card, he had zero problems as well. I got the game to run great after about six hours of tinkering, at that point I was fed up(Even with the fix, textures looked like shit, nothing like the screens they showed to market the game). It was fun, but I felt like I was lied to.

I thought Rage was a fantastic shooter in terms of gameplay. It gave me a constant nostalgic warmth throughout. It's been a while since I've played a FPS as gloriously old school as Rage. I loved the weapons, and I loved most of the enemies.
It's not perfect though, and underwhelming for an id game. While the visuals are incredibly varied, and in that way, truly innovative with the megatextures and such, everything is disappointingly low res, and texture pop in is a constant issue. From a distance, Rage is fucking gorgeous, but nose to the wall, I was shocked. The textures look like PS2 quality up close. But who wants to spend their time closely inspecting the walls? The atmosphere of the game is superb, which is to be expected from the creators of Doom 3.
The story was meh, and I felt id had an identity crisis of sorts with this game. It felt overtly derivative. Of course, most people immediate notice the parallels with Borderlands, Bioshock, and Fallout 3, but upon closer inspection, this game also rips pretty hard off of F.E.A.R. and Half Life 2. They even make indirect references to both games. After you wipe out most of an Authority squad, the sole survivor will yell, "He wiped out the whole squad!". This is directly from F.E.A.R. 1, 2, and 3. In the second city hub, when the Authority occupies, you'll find that the guard standing near a trashcan will tell you to "Pick up the can" (theres a can near the trash). This is obviously a nod to the beginning of Half Life 2.
The ending was disappointing and felt very rushed.
The multiplayer is good fun, but lacking content. id had a chance to do something truly unique with the deathmatch mode by allowing the players to leave their vehicles and fight on foot, but they decided to limit it to vehicular combat only. It's disappointing, but what's there is casual fun.
So, excellent, oldschool gameplay, fantastic atmosphere, innovative yet unconventional graphics, fun but casual MP, and a derivative, poorly developed story. That's my opinion. A solid 8.5 game.
