Beatiful mushroom, potentially magic. Need good informant!
    #15120064 - 09/22/11 11:49 PM (9 years, 7 months ago)

On the last walkthrough of the yard for the day I find several quite intriguing shrooms. To me they look like homegrown mushrooms.

After touched the body immediately begins to darken to a deep purple. As you can see the lower body is very plump, the caps are a lightish orange to brown in color.

The caps are quite small, will they drop a spore print or should I let them mature a bit?  Really would like some help on this one, will start to take spore samples and get habitats ready for transplants.  Would really like some help

Big Daddy

Here are a few of the shrooms as it was difficult for me to group them all in a single photo.  They are growing next to some Ivy.

I have the strong feeling that the people that lived in the house before me had at one point cultivated mushrooms in the yard/compost pile or what have you.

Mushrooms picked

Any info would be much appreciated!

wow, when you want something badly your brain can realy decieve you,

those caps are not light orange or brown, their purple

and they look like clitocybe nuda an ok tasting edible in my oppinion but a spore print would confirm its not its toxic purple cortinarious look alike

I mean they are lightish orange to brown when I picked them, there is relative purpleness, but they had been fumbled around a wee bit and slowly changed there shade to purple as well.

The ones that are still in the ground are definitely not purple. And the cortinarious from my previous thread looks nothing like this one, just saying, tomorrow when the caps are a bit bigger I'll do a spore print for sure.

They just looked so unique, had my attention captive for the rest of the evening, ha

What color would the Clitocybe Nuda/Cortinarious drop for a spore print?

Do the mushrooms have gills or pores? If they're gills then I think they're Cortinarius, which has a brown spore print.

The gills they have a very short from what I can see. When I say short I mean how far towards the outer edge of the cap they extend. It doesnt even look like they are touching the edge, but the cap is only the circumference of my pinky, so its rather hard to even decipher wether they are gills.

I'll have to wait till tomorrow, will have pics of gill shots and spore prints,

much love all ways
