I would recommend buying a level 1 beginners piano book, they're cheap and will take you through the basics of reading music. (best cheapest most reliable way.) That's how I learned to read music. However, keep in mind that you don't need to read music to be a good piano player. For awhile now I've found it much more satisfying to just play whatever I feel and let go, no sheet music or anything. BUT if you're wanting to learn specific songs and whatnot and have a hard time playing by hear, sheets are helpful.

Hey man, I can't read sheet music either.

Do you have a local music shop? I don't know much about your area, but here, lessons are about 15$ per 30 minute lesson. Go to a few lessons a month if you can, and learn what you need to about sheet music, bring what you learned home, and you can eventually fall into it.

My brother did that for guitar, now he can read sheet music no problem, and plays really really well.

Only took a few lessons on sheet music.

I imagine it might be more in depth for piano, but worth a shot aye?

tabnabber.com is the best site for "piano tabs." For sheet music there is really no best site— in my experience, it's not like getting tabs are for guitar, where some sites just aggregate almost EVERY song.

For learning piano in general, I advocate using YouTube. It's free, it's self paced, and you have as much freedom to learn what you want as is really possible. YouTube for learning music is like Wikipedia for learning anything. Getting lessons sucks, and is boring. They teach you how to play like everyone else. Learn to play like YOU. You will gain experience and style much more quickly as a self-learner than as a student from some institutional school, or set way of doing things.

Check out synthesia too (guitar hero for piano) at http://synthesiagame.com
